I’m a proud member of the Patriot Nation, and I’m going with the Patriots, too. When I was working in a Boston suburb in the mid-1970s, I went to several games at the tiny old Schaefer stadium (named after the Schaefer Brewing Co.) in Foxboro, Mass. The Pats were still a very young team at the time, and victories were few and far between. But they became one of my sentimental favorites, and they’ve rewarded my loyalty many times over during the Belichick era. (It’s hard to believe Brady has been with the Pats for 17 years. The photo from below is from 2011.) I’ve always loved that Brady was selected 199th overall in the NFL draft’s sixth round. I wonder how many NFL coaches and general managers have been kicking themselves ever since for passing up Brady through the first five rounds of the draft?

Whew, tough one. First choice(s): Any one of my three best friends from my senior year in high school. Unlike @wolfe I don’t still carry torches for any of them, but at the time, my crushes were pretty serious. Out of contemporary guys, if we’re shooting for the moon: Chris Evans and Jake Gyllenhaal would definitely be high on my list, along with Ryan Reynolds. Other dreamy celebs: Henry Caville (Superman, “The Immortals,” HBO’s “The Tudors” — for my money, the most handsome of all contemporary actors), Jamie Dornan, Armie Hammer, and of course, Matt Damon. But as long as we’re dreaming, my #1 and #2 picks overall: classic Colt models John Pruitt (#1-4 below) and Doug Perry (#5-6).
