Here's what I found on a website about the Apes movies:

Maryann Stewart was a female astronaut who accompanied George Taylor, John Landon and Thomas Dodge on their fate-filled expedition through space. Six months into their mission, the crew placed themselves into a state of suspended animation, in preparation for their long voyage. While they slept, their space vessel, the Liberty 1 (nicknamed "Icarus"), passed through a Hasslein Curve in space, and was propelled forward through time several thousands of years. During their journey, Stewart's stasis pod malfunctioned and an air leak caused her to die in her sleep. When Taylor and the others finally awakened in the 40th century, they found the remains of Stewart's dessicated body in the pod. The ship crashed down onto Earth in the middle of a salt lake. Taylor, Dodge and Landon were forced to evacuate and Stewart's body sank to the bottom of the lake along with the rest of the ship.

In Hawaii we shopped at Safeway... in LA either Safeway, Vons or Ralph's... I had no idea that Piggly Wiggly existed in LA. This photo was taken at an  Encino Piggly Wiggly in 1962... I have no words for this photo... but it truly was a different era.

I wasn't sure when, I thought maybe the late 60's. Not my taste either.

Everything about that photo screamed Conran to me... I'm going to guess 72!

I once lived in a wonderful apartment on East 52nd street in New York, and we had a similar kitchen (except it was all white cabinets and appliances)...  the exhaust fan was not like the one shown and many of the  cabinets had  garage door style opening for appliances etc... like the other photo...Great view looking east...only drawback was  that it had a B&W tile floor that was popular in that era... (don't even get me started on how much work that was)
