i remember back when i was kid, in the 90's, i had these polly pocket style toys. i had like three of these jeannie bottles. they seemed to start making, or re-making, merchandise for the show because it was re-airing on nikelodeon/nick-at-night and became popular with a younger audience as a result. i don't remember really liking the show or having any strong feelings about it so i don't know why exactly i got these.

and then i had a couple of these godzilla ones. i did very much love godzilla as a kid so i understand why i had these.

my toy selection as a child ran the gender spectrum, much to father's annoyance. i had godzilla and voltron action figures, bins of legos and hot wheels but also spice girls, sailor moon, and general barbie dolls. an easy bake oven and this thing that melted down metal and let you create little figure things from molds, slightly dangerous that one but yet it was the easy bake oven i almost started a fire with because i left the plastic grabber thing inside it while it was on and completely melted it.

Seeing and hearing this I am immediately transported back nearly 60 years to a seat in the old cinema* in the British seaside town where I was brought up.

* Amazingly still in business after 115 years since it opened as a cinema

Came across this quite surreptitiously... this is where I used to fill up my car in LA (at the Chevron Station) way back when... fill the tank, a pack of cigarettes and a Coca-Cola for about $20.00... La Brea @ Beverly Blvd.

From 1962, quite early in their TV careers, Eric Morecambe (tall) and Ernie Wise (not) perform the immortal 'Boom Hoo Yatatatah' sketch. They were unique and greatly loved. The other two guys are the writers.

I remember watching this every now and then... it was on early in the morning in Hawaii... little did I know about his modeling days with Jack Thomas photographed by Russ Warner...

I was attracted to Jack, too, back then.  About the most overtly-sexy man on TV back then, other than seeing some chest hair poke out from an open shirt or a worker being shirtless, or the many beach movies and such.  I suspect that by his TV days, he had lost a good bit of his musculature, but retained the body shape.  When I found the above pictures in the 1980s, I was greatly surprised at how much better he looked then than on TV!  Never saw any "hint of his talent" in the jumpsuit shots!  THANKS for the posting!!!

I've never been a serious bowler (in that I own a ball and shoes) but I used to have fun with a few friends at Hollywood Lanes... we called our group "Bowling 4 Boyfriends" I got fairly good too... Hollywood Lanes was at 5227 Santa Monica Blvd... used in the film "The Big Lebowski" sadly it closed about 20 years ago.
