Blue Discharge
From 1945 to 1947, gays discovered
in the US armed forces received less than honorable discharges
and were often sentenced to hard labor,
without an appeal process
-1940s-
"My buddy Fred survived D Day on Omaha Beach but didn't survive the army - they gave him a blue discharge!"
