in Commonwealth countries, today is the Day of Remembrance; in the US it is called Veterans' Day. us real old timers remember it as Armistice Day, the end of World War I. I rather doubt that young people even know why we wear poppies, as commemorated in John Mc Crae's poem: In Flanders' fields the poppies blow; Between the crosses, row on row; That mark our place: and in the sky; The larks, still bravely singing, fly; Scarce heard amid the guns below. now that I think of it, I'll bet young people have no idea where Flanders is. the poem was written to commemorate the Battle of Ypres. I like to commemorate the dead, as they include my parents now.
anyway, enough of that. the platform seems to have gotten over indigestion, so I am back with a selection of toothsome young men, first among which is Rusty Joiner. I just love him togged up as a plumber, and dream of him appearing at my door to clean out my pipes 🙂 hope you enjoy them, and I welcome our newest clubmembers!
