Dmitry Averyanov, photographed by by Tom Cullis for Modus Vivendi’s “military collection.”  I’m not sure what artistic concept Cullis had in mind for this bizarre series of photos.   “Navy SEAL Training” seems like a weak theme to justify Cullis’s bizarre choices for costuming and the model’s poses, which don’t present either the model or the product in their best light.  Averyanov is one of my favorite models, but I wouldn’t have recognized him in about half of these photos if he hadn’t been identified.  And I’m not sure exactly what Modus Vivendi products are being featured, other than presumably the briefs Averyanov is wearing in many of the photos.   (In image #9, Cullis seems to have used some professional PhotoShop wizardry:  Averyanov is wearing briefs in the foreground, but he appears nude in his mirror image.)

I would like to run my hands over a MAN in uniform's bristly buzz cut, (well ya and the rest of him too.) Something incredibly masculine about guys with (ultra) short hair. Wouldn't mind helping them keep it that way.  Maybe someone will give me a man in a uniform for my birthday???

What do you do with a drunken sailor?  "Shave his belly with a rusty razor....  Put him in a long boat till he's sober....  Stick him in a scupper with a horsepipe bottom....  Put him in bed with the captain's daughter....  That's what you do with a drunken sailor!"  One of the greatest drinking songs of all time.  (But I doubt that British seamen back in the day had access to anything as good as Captain Morgan's rum!)
