Police Officer Refuses to Guard Embassy

Oks read this today on the sky news website. A Muslim Police Officer asked for a special dispention from guarding the Israley Embassy because of the conflict between Israel and Lebanon.

 

My question would be he signed up as a police officer. Should he not be required to carry out his public duties?

 

If he cant carry them out should he have handed in his resignation.

 

I find it disturbing someone who is here to protect the public uses a race card so he doesnt have to Guard an Embassy or the public.

 

 

In a statement Scotland Yard Deputy Commissoner Paul Stephenson said the decision was taken purely on safety grounds following a risk assessment.

 

PC Basha is attached to the Metropolitan Police's Diplomatic Protection Group.

 

The decision not to assign him to the Israeli Embassy has caused a storm of protest.

 

Former Flying Squad commander John O'Connor told the Sun: "This is the beginning of the end for British policing.
