A little known fact about you

Recommended Posts

hey Kawika, it isn`t painful now, but i do have to be careful. if i let the nail grow too long, the split will widen just enough to allow a loose thread or other such things, to catch in the split. i have managed to tear part of the tip off the nail a few times already, throughout my life, and have come close a few times, but was aware enough of the nail to not cause too much damage, as of yet. with love from Wes!! hugs!!!

Wow, @bakersman94 that sounds very painful. 😱 Glad it’s “only” the nail that’s bugging you and you didn’t cut off a finger or something. 😶

That’s sad to hear @ampang, maybe a little smile would do for the best. 😊

Wow, @Kawika, you came around a lot. 😲

Another fact about me: I met someone from the internet when I was teenager while I was on a trip with my family in the city where he lived, not for anything dirty though. It was actually pretty weird. They never found out. 😅

It's nice of you to ask... but the majority of my work has been stunt double and back up vocal work... it's a mostly an invisible job and that is the way I like it.

thank you Sammy!! as long as i keep the nail short, like almost down to the quick, i`m good, as the nail doesn`t split until it has grown out some!!

even the people in the background deserve some recognition, Kawika!! without your work on the scene or vocals, it would have turned out completely different, and quite possibly not as well as you did it!!

I am an excellent cook and can make almost anything as good or better than any restaurant or bakery in the world... with the exception of the Pressed Duck at Tour D'Argent in Paris.

I've been everywhere Pan Am flew ( I was cabin crew while I was finishing my Masters and writing my thesis and studying to defend it). My favorite memory is being stranded in Tahiti for a week waiting for a new aircraft to arrive.

I met  Elton John once at a London Lighthouse event. My (then) boyfriend's brother worked in some top position at the charity and he sneaked us in.  Honestly, I haven't seen such a gathering of dolled-up queens ever since.  Sir Elton was really friendly, though.

I met him once at a hotel by the swimming pool... he was very nice.

Well Joel, you are fortunate to write in a language you use every day and for years. For lots of us, we try to be nice, witty and good members in a foreign language we to not master. Sometimes we make dreadful mistakes and if we are lucky, there will be a big laughter, if not we need good excuses 🙂 I believe the problems we have are, we do not master the strength of the words and the different twists of words with the same translation but so different in meaning... And that damn prepositions!!!

I think your english is excellent Joel and you did well (after school)! LOSUPdatingHL1.gif

Heh, I hear you, mate. I got my first MA in English Language and Literature, I could quote Shakespeare or Whitman at you, or explain Henry Tudor's claim to the throne, or list the US states with their capitals, but I had no idea what "real" English was like. The first time I went to England on a scholarship, I swear I didn't dare to speak a word for at least a month. The upside is that - as foreign speakers with fresh eyes, as it were - we can notice the quirkiness and beauty of the English language that native speakers often don't.

Yes majikthis, I understand you, but still Americans or Britons speaks English. Though I can hear it is a difference. But if you become a member in a forum and Scandinavian is the forum language. Yes it is a challenge but you have practice Scandinavian 3 years in School so let's go .... perhaps you understand why I was calling for the nursery when I arrived here. There is no chance of a decent  conversation if the "language" isn't alive and above baby level and if the baby is 60 years of age (or so) will not make it easier.

Time for another fact about me:

When I was a child, I often did not use my hands while falling to avoid hitting the ground too hard but often bumped my head on the ground leaving me with a bump quite a few times. 😆
