FWIW, when I was starting out on my career, I figured that I would be 65 and retire in 2012. that was so far ahead of 1969 that I couldn't comprehend it. FWIW.

Everything that was "in the future", back then, was a daydream that we later woke up from to see reality.  I worked until I was 71.  If I had done the normal deal, my "pay the bills" SSA check would have been much less.  Additionally, I would probably have gone more crazy in the process.  People who can contribute past age 65 should keep contributing, but there does come a time when "it's time" to better enjoy the fruits of our long labors!  And so . . . one of my joys is all of the neat feelings of remembering when I had muscles and my skin was tighter, AND when I first enjoyed seeing some of the images in here for the first time and the great times I had back then.  One of the things we get out or this life with are our memories in our mind and rejoice in the great memories we leave behind in the minds of others we encountered during our life.  Make the new/current memories great ones, too!
