Yup, I still have the manual (that is, non-electric) Olivetti portable that my parents gave me for a Christmas present in the early 1960s, after I'd been begging for a typewriter for years.  It still works like a charm, although I've used it only once during at least the last 40 years and the ribbon is getting a little dim.  If Rochester, the late Jack Benny's valet, were still around, he could steep the ribbon in grape juice for me, as he did Mr. Benny's. 

I still rue the day that I gave away my Smith-Corona electric typewriter, which I used for typing so many of my college and graduate school term papers, after I'd bought a then-fancy new electronic typewriter with a one-line (!) memory.  It went SNAFU after only five or six years, while the 1960s manual Olivetti still works.
