I couldn't finish watching it, it made me sick.

Basically imagine a helicopter video game when the aim is to kill people for points.

 

The audio from the helicopter is disappointing when you understand these are real lives.

 

 

 

 

Two journalists walking down the road were slaughtered. As were those surrounding them.

 

Their cameras were interpreted as weapons.

 

The helicopter then hangs around for others to come to help, then plays round 2.

 

 

 

 

 

When things like this really happen, then I think it is probably better not to know.

The video gives you a real good idea of what the soldiers were thinking. at the time. I must say, the tone of the soldiers was extremely professional and it wasn't at all like some rogue cowboys playing a video game. They were asking for verification that these were not friendly soldiers before taking action.

 

War sucks and innocents get injured/killed during its course. While what happened to these men was sad, I don't believe fault can be put on the soldiers, who, after finding out the details, probably were devastated.

now I even saw the video on the news on the telly and I was quite shocked!

 

of course I´m no military expert, but I never saw any weapon or suspicious behaviour by those people they killed

 

sometimes I wish we would go back to the old days when war meant a man versus man fight and not some kind of videogame because then I think many people with an easy finger on the trigger would think twice and I mean no soldier but all those crappy politicians who send kids into war as well as those fucking radical old men who dare to preach murder in the name of God as the right thing

 

all those ignorants make me angry like nothing!

This is what I have read (not CNN): WikiLeaks identified the second unarmed survivor as Mr. Chmagh, who runs along a row of houses until he too, is shot, and lies writhing on the ground – apparently unable to get up. The helicopter keeps its cross-hairs on the injured man while one of the US soldiers jokingly pleads over his radio "all you have to do is pickup up a weapon" – which would have allowed him to finish the man off under US rules of engagement at the time. US soldiers on the ground establish there are two child casualties and agree to take them to a hospital, according to the transmission.

well I wonder why those soldiers are taping what they do...

 

either they feel they a right to act like that or they think that they won´t be punished regardless what they do and both possibilities are chilling to me.

Taking about taping, it reminds me another incident - JFK tower allowed kids to direct air traffic - a delight pilot said wistfully,"I wish I could bring my kid to work."

Standard procedures. All military aircraft like that have built in recorders for future review.
