well, today is Saint Nicholas' Day, and in some European locales, children receive their presents. in the US, it is the traditional day for hanging of the greens, and I am proud to say that I got all my Christmas decorating done, and I am especially proud of my lighted wreath that my neighbors can admire. here in the office, I am working on my collection, and have chosen Trevor Lagerwey, the South African lovely, as my feature. hoping that you enjoy my selections, and I welcome all our newest clubmembers!

Re: decorating for the holidays, we usually put up three full size trees. I haven't made it any further than having thoughts that I ought to start doing something.  I've so far only bought one present. The reason? This will be the third year in a row that we haven't gone anywhere to do holiday shopping, and likewise that we haven't had people in for a party. I'm having an especially hard time getting in the mood this year.

my stars! three full sized trees!? I haven't had a tree since my husband died, and Mom & Dad had a pint-sized artificial tree that I think came out of a Florsheim store where my baby brother worked (he is now 68) and I don't have a clue what happened to the tree. my only nod to Christmas is to turn on the blue-and-white lights around my front windows (that way I celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah), hang my outdoor wreath, and two stockings that Mother needlepointed a long time ago. as to gifts, I used to send gifts to two old ladies up north and a buddy in California and a buddy and her husband in Texas. the old ladies had the bad manners to die, and my friend in San José is dreadfully ill, so I am terrified that his card and/or gift will be returned. as to getting in the mood, I don't have people in - it has been a long time, and, as I tell anybody who will listen, when you get to be my age, every day is the same 😞 whatever

I figure whatever is meaningful to you, is the thing to do. As for us, there's one theme that rotates among the three trees. The themes for the other two will need to be decided soon. I'm very glad not to be dedicating a tree this year to memorialize someone's passing. The last three years have been rough (my sister in 2019, and my mother-in-law in 2020. My mother died on Christmas Day in 2020, so we did a tree for her last year.)
