Someone once said to me... don't measure time by looking at your watch or a calendar but by the moments in your life... I've lived by that ever since.

@JoelR  what a timely post.  The older I get, the more I just take time out to "smell the flowers"

Yes we all need to smell the flowers and enjoy life as much as we can.  When we get old we will not regret the things we have done, but rather regret the things we did not do.  So get out and do as much as you can.  I have taken to making a list  in the morning of the things I want to do.  Sometimes I get a few checked off, sometimes I don't, but regardless, I fell a whole lot better just having the list to see where I have been, and what I have accomplished.
