Myles Antony was born and raised in Dublin, where he studied art under the noted Irish painter, Fergus O'Ryan. While still in his teens, Myles moved to - what was then - 'Swinging London'. Within a short period of time he joined the John Stephen Organisation, founders of the Carnaby Street phenomenon, becoming Art Director after a few years. When the wiz kids of Carnaby Street grew up, Myles moved on to Graphic Design, creating TV logos, record sleeves and movie posters. In 1985 he held his first solo exhibition at the Edinburgh Festival, which was a great success. Since then he has exhibited yearly at Adonis Art. Together with publications of Myles' work as greetings cards and limited editions, exhibitions have also been held in Amsterdam at the famed Rob Gallery and in Berlin at the Mr B. Gallery. His works were also selected for exhibition at the Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin, in 1990. Myles Antony has broken barriers in his bold approach to the use of watercolour, being true to, and in great control of, the medium. The colours he uses, the delicate lines, the soft focus imagery, give his work character and vision. With keenly observed figures in search of an erotic ID, each and every one is a portrait of a real person. The paintings are at times daring and amusing, but always warm and human. George Quaintance (June 3, 1902 – November 8, 1957) was an American artist, famous for his "idealized, strongly homoerotic" depictions of men in mid-20th-century physique magazines. Using historical settings to justify the nudity or distance the subjects from modern society, his art featured idealized muscular, semi-nude or nude male figures; Wild West settings were a common motif. His artwork helped establish the stereotype of the "macho stud" who was also homosexual, leading him to be called a "pioneer of a gay aesthetic". He was an influence on many later homoerotic artists, such as Tom of Finland.

@ColtMann and @JoelR : Except for the link to the Tom of Finland download file, none of the links above works, including the albums for Tab Hunter, who definitely wasn't a Colt model (alas 😟), and Chase Hunter (both the main album file's link and the zip file). Hunter may have done some work for Colt -- he was definitely their type -- but his main œuvre was for other studios, including Falcon/HotHouse/RagingStallion. This daily message is from last August. I don't know what Colt's process is when he posts a revision of an old file as he re-cycles through the alphabet. Is the older album deleted and a revised one then uploaded anew? Or are images just added and/or deleted from the existing album in situ? If it's the former, that would explain why the links above don't work now, because that album was deleted and its replacement is in a different location. Over time, I've noticed that comments I'd made earlier on either an album itself or on individual images within the album, as well as any stiffies I'd given, are missing when the revised album is featured once again in a daily message. That seems to imply that the old album was completely deleted, and a revised set of images was uploaded as a "new album." @JoelR : On a related note, in cases like this, where the album is either missing or has been moved to a new location, the system's error message is shown below. It's completely misleading, and even meaningless, since I'm already a member and I'm logged on. Joining AM is irrelevant. This error message should be changed.

Touko Laaksonen (8 May 1920 – 7 November 1991), best known by his pseudonym Tom of Finland, was a Finnish artist notable for his stylized homoerotic fetish art and his influence on late twentieth century gay culture. He has been called the "most influential creator of gay pornographic images" by cultural historian Joseph W. Slade. Over the course of four decades, he produced some 3500 illustrations, mostly featuring men with exaggerated primary and secondary sex traits with tight or partially removed clothing.
