Profile: He was the boyfriend of Vanna White of Wheel of Fortune fame.  John was on the soap opera "The Young and the Restless" for about a year in the early '80s.  He was also one of the first Chippendale dancers and appeared in their first video.  Made around 1981 or 1982, it was a full show taped at their club in California.  John was the "the cop" that interrupted the show and said the club was being raided.  He then proceeds to strip.  PG-centerfold-turned-soapstar Steve Bond also appears in the video.  This was back when the ladies used to sit in a circle around the dance floor and the guys would just strip and collect dollars in their g-string.  Before they turned the show into a bad Broadway musical with all that singing and nonsense they do now.  And there was this annoying female comic introducing the guys and telling jokes between performances.  On May 17, 1986, John left for Big Bear Lake CA in a two-seat Trinidad TB-20.  Due to turbulance caused by a nearby transport plane Gibson’s plane went down on Roscoe Boulevard near the Van Nuys CA airport.  The body was burned beyond recognition.
