    Having maintained an excellent reputation as a celeb portraiture and fashion photographer during his brief lifetime, the archive that the estate of George Platt Lynes bequeathed to the Kinsey Institute was a revelation - the same expertise in composition and lighting applied in celebration of the male nude.  Many of these images are available elsewhere but they ought to be duplicated as much as possible in this world of sometimes flat "insta-ready" imagery!

23. Honcho Magazine, January 1986 - remastered full magazine

    This is a painstakingly remastered full issue, January 1986, of Honcho Magazine that I manually scanned and re-mastered the images as best as I could - VERY old.... 
    Scanning one page of the magazine at a time, these are the processes I went through:
    - Color warmth and lighting correction applied
    - Centerfolds, both single and split, are digitally stitched together, with the original pages left intact
    - Inserted photos are enhanced with their own separate display pages (when feasible)
    - Very high resolution 600dpi individual scans
    - Applied filters (Unsharp Mask, De-screening, Dust Removal) for improved image quality
    - All edges cleanly trimmed, and any marks or seams touched-up by hand in Photoshop (when feasible)
    I did not zip this into a single upload file, because it is still way too large, and everything is processed at a high resolution of 600dpi and I did not want to reduce the resolution.  So all the pages of the entire magazine - even the ads - are here, as well as some enlargements of the embedded smaller photos.  Enjoy 🙂 🙂
