Geoffrey Kane

Geoffrey Kane was born Roger Thomas LeClaire on March 24, 1950 in Michigan. There is very little info on the Internet about him. I do know that he eventually moved out to LA and over the years he modeled for magazines like International Male and Playgirl. He was also a bartender at Studio One in West Hollywood.

Roger was a part of director Allan Carr's coterie of handsome young actors/models and Playgirl types who he was always seen out on the town with. He also had a "blink and you miss it" cameo in Can't Stop the Music as a photographer (he's in the disco scene in the beginning, and the owner of the disco pushes him into taking a picture of Valerie Perrine's ass as she climbs a ladder up to Steve Guttenberg's DJ booth).

It is said that Allan Carr took care of all of Roger's medical expenses until the day he died on February 3, 1986. In his obituary, that appeared in the Michigan papers, his nickname was given as "Butch".

A sad and very tragic footnote to Roger's story is the murder in 1995 of his niece Stacy in MI. She was a former homecoming queen and only 19 when she accompanied a friend to confront the friend's boyfriend over a cheating rumor. He shot them both, Stacy managed to escape and hid for 19 hours in a field before police found her. She told them who the shooter was and then died moments later.

Roger's friend Lisa sums Roger up nicely with this quote: “We all partied, danced lived like there was no tomorrow, he had lots of lovers and admirers. I adored him and his silly laugh"”
