Mac or Microsoft

I prefer Microsoft over Mac. Ive used Windows all my life and dont see me changing. That being said it does have probelms but im sure all systems do

I am a Mac user ever since I was young, Ive actually never used a windows in my life for more than something like writing a repot. I find myself so frustrated, and I'm an art student, we dont have to use that.

Ever since using Macs for my Yearbook class in high school, I've been hooked. I've had my MacBook Pro for a bit over a year and I absolutely love it. It's gotten to the point where I have no idea what I'm doing when I have to use a PC (usually with Windows Vista and 7) haha.

Quick tip: if you ever feel the need to save a video from YouTube (or whatever other site of your liking ;)) while using Safari, just press Command-Option-A and it'll bring up a window of all the files loading in the browser. Find the video, which is usually the biggest file being loaded, and double click it. If it's a .FLV file, it'll usually start to download to your downloads folder.

If it's something else that it tries to load in a new window, what I do is copy the URL and paste it somewhere (like a PM to yourself) and hit preview. Then you should be able to right click the link and save the file.

 

Sounds complicated, but it isn't.

I personally like using both mac and windows. This is because i had for a long time only used windows computers, and grew accustom to the interface, but more recently i transitioned to a mac. So i think each of the operating systems have unique features that make it better than each other. Although on a whole i would have to say the mac interface is nicer and more stable. I also believe the ultimate operating system should be a mixture of mac and windows combined!

I've heard there are many forums where Windov/mikrosoft owners can discuss how to get all these universal and compatible programs to work.

I am a PC fan. The hardware is so much better, and although it doesn't look as pretty, they work so much better. I have friends who have had macs crash so much, but I have never had problems with my PC. I have a Dell and it works great.

Interesting. I could say the same thing about many friends who have changed to Macs for that same reason. Unreliable PC's and those viruses which I never had to deal with since I've always owned Macs. There are 5 macs in my household right now, from 1-5 years old and none have ever crashed.

I've used PC's at work but I never found them as user friendly. The hideous popups which makes it hard to concentrate on what you're doing and there was a virus problem every other week.

I think there's less quality control with PC's in general but there are some good PC products.

If yours works great for you, then you should have no reason to change.

The old Mac vs Microsoft debate!

You are never gunna get an ideal answer because people are either Mac Freaks or Microsoft Freaks!

I myself am a Mac Freak - however I openly use both systems and build PC's. What I can say is that Mac is ROCK solid and the ideal OS for home use. Microsoft is better for enterprise as it is plyable and can be configured to run the way you want - this is brilliant for business however it does make it prone to viruses and attack!

Mac OS is a closed UNIX system that has evolved with the technology and hardware. Lets face it Apple produce hardware and software that work seamlessly together! Whereas Microsoft make software that third party companies incorporate into their hardware = driver issues, incompatibility and MANY HEADACHES! Windows is still based off the same archaic dll and registry architecture that windows 3.1 was and although it looks really fancy and windows & is an amazing leap foward it is essentially flawed!

I have used Macs for years and i am running the current OS on a 5 year olf mac and it runs like a dream - And hey if you want you can always run windows on a Mac!!!

I love my MAC, but I agree it's a little limiting as far as viewing online. I have only encountered it a few times (like butchdixon.com or ukmen), but you can't view online if you have a MAC. Frustrating.

I never had anything else but a Mac. It saved me hours of headeache - I'm shure. It was hard in the Nineties when they were about to collapse or turn into some gray PCs but since the first iMac it's getting back upwards.

The first computer I ever used was a Mac at school. One of those old school ones that had the different color backs. I remember everyone loving them because they had a dinosaur game, I literally got stabbed with a pencil over the game. Anyway, I'm a PC guy and it really just comes down to the fact that you can get so much more for the price. I don't need the prettiest thing which is a lot of the price of Apple products, I just want something with power and that's a PC. I love Apple things and the simplicity but there are just certain things that make me feel more in control on a Windows PC. I feel like Apple treats their users kind of like idiots and designs there systems for "dummies." This isn't necessarily bad but it does make it feel like I'm restricted.

I have just bought my first macbook pro and i automatically fell in love with it. I love the how quick it function plus with mac the possibilities are endless; the only trouble i have had so far was that i couldnt connect my zune to it but i quickly found an alternative and no i have no problems with it

MACs are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than PCs. They have a higher capability to be customized and my mac never crashes unlike every other PC computer I've ever had.

 

I would say PCs are better with compatibility but I think that for the most part, MAC works with any software I've found.
