Whenever the make up on television or porn is really bad it means they probably did it themselves and did not know how it was going to read under lights on camera... or they really pissed off a makeup art artist... that lip stick shade on Marshall is pretty creepy.

Agreed.  Marshall may well have been wearing at least minimum make-up for this photoshoot.  But in this case, there's probably a technical and more innocent explanation for the awful skin tone of his whole face, which has an unnatural reddish tint to it that doesn't even look like a sunburn.  It's the same effect that you'd get if the color settings on your TV were wrong. 

The colors in that image are badly balanced and oversaturated; notice the reddish tints in the skin tones of Brian Maxon, Tom Mitchell, Marshall, and Giorgio Canali in the thumbnails on the back cover.  In my files, I found the version of the cover above shown by image #1 below.  It has the opposite problem: The whole image appears slightly washed out.  In contrast, image #2 of Marshall below is the same as the one on the back cover, and the colors look pretty natural.  (Considering the blue shirt in the background of #2 below, this photo may have been taken during the same shoot at the image used on the cover.) 

The cover image on my copy of this DVD looks perfectly natural.  Even the red used for the title's font is less intense, and the font itself is more crisp.  The image in my original post is just a (very) bad copy of the actual cover.

There is a "Charlies Angles" rerun on right now called "Mr Galaxy" and Ric Drasin had a small part in it... here modeling and relaxing on Venice Beach in the 70's!

Russ Warner (pictured) was one of the pioneers photographing  beefcake... the photos of Jack La Lane and Jack Thomas exist only because Russ Warner refused to sell Jack La Lane the negatives when his television show and public profile reached it's peak in the late 50's and early 60's.
