    Trevor Michael

Photographer Joem Bayawa presents Trevor Michael Opalewski We are happy that photographer Joem Bayawa presents Trevor Michael Opalewski to all of us. Personal Trainer, represented by DAS Management Trevor comes in a stunning session by Joem Bayawa in Chicago. A total motivator for many guys around the world, Trevor shared all his fitness secrets on Instagram his principal tool to be connected with you. The good thing is that Joem and Trevor did a very good job together, they connected and in the frames we’re about to see, reflects it. “Don’t worry about anyone else’s voice or opinion. They aren’t paying your bills or helping you make your way so why give anyone not supporting you any of your energy!? Trust yourself and make it happen!” Feeling motivated by Trevor is so easily, well he makes him easily for us. But let’s see where Trevor was born and how does this model start his career. About Trevor I grew up in a smaller city of Metro Detroit (Saint Clair Shores) with both parents until about 3/4 years old. I don’t remember my father much, I just know what my mother went through raising me as a child. She practically gave her life up to make sure I was raised properly. Luckily she had 8 brothers and a sister so there was always family around. By 4th grade I started playing football, thank to my best friend Adam. Guy brought me into the light of working hard and never giving up. Both these individuals were huge inspirations and driving forces for the work ethic, personality, and character I have today. “What’s your motivation?? Mine is my upbringing, didn’t have a father figure and wasn’t born into riches.. Was working at 14 and never stopped. All I’ve ever known was hard work through good times and bad times… Won’t say I’m my own motivation but the life I had and struggles made me never want to see some of those days again.. Find your why and make it happen!!” Trevor and an enrichment Sports Life I’ve played sports since 4th grade and continued by adding track and swimming and diving in high school. Throughout these years I would read magazine after magazine of bodybuilding, nutrition, and exercising trying to learn as much as I could to be able to help others achieve their goals as my friend Adam helped me. Knew personal training was the right pathway for me so went to school for exercise science and became a certified trainer when I was 21 years old. While attending Saginaw Valley State University I learned about a guy named Greg Plitt. Known for his motivation/inspiration Greg was the top fitness model in the world and ranked top 100 best looking males. Having seen his videos and reading his blogs I was inspired to get into modeling but didn’t have a clue where to start. Not knowing about the business or who to contact I just focused on working my craft and building the best physique I could do one day I could showcase and inspire others as Greg has. It wasn’t until 5 years later when social media and Instagram started booming when I found out about other photographers in the surrounding areas and how to go about setting up a photo shoot. I had one photographer reach out to me and set up a photo shoot after seeing my post on social media and with a few months completed my first photo shoot. Needless to say the experience wasn’t what I expected and was kinda turned off on the subject. I spent the next two years focused on my career and one day this photographer who I was following (Joem Bayawa) reached out to me. At first I was like hell no lol, after what I went through the first time I didn’t want it happening again. At first I declined but still kept in mind. “The skin you’re in is the only one you’ll have, before you can love others you must first truly love yourself.” Joem and Trevor co-workers Wasn’t until December 2017 when Joem reached out again and we started talking few hours here, few hours there, and upon doing so I knew it was going to be a different experience. At this time I was going through hell, financially, physically, mentally, and socially just at my lowest. Joem kept saying just do it and come out to Chicago. I think at the time I might’ve had a couple hundred to my name if that- I said the heck with it and went. I ended up taking a bus out to Chicago and I’ll say it was worth every cent. Joem and myself started off a little shaky with me not having any experience since two-three years ago. After the rust was off we created many great shots. “Joem is the photographer you want in your corner, not only a great photographer but also a wonderful friend.” Haven’t met such a selfless character, he might care too much but it’s this attitude he brings in his passion.

    Ryan Haringa

Perfect California Tan Ryan Haringa by Benjamin Veronis Perfect California Tan: Ryan Haringa by Benjamin Veronis Model Ryan Haringa spent a late summer’s day driving down the California coast line and discovered a secluded beach which made a perfect setting to relax and spend the afternoon. And since there was nobody else around on the beach, Ryan felt perfectly comfortable in shedding almost all of his clothes to get that perfect California Tan. Ryan + San Diego Ryan keeps incredibly fit by running and working out regularly at the gym, and also teachers a boot camp class in his hometown of San Diego. Needless to say, the results speak for themselves. Some models have all the luck! The photographer for this series is Benjamin Veronis whom we have been able to publish many times and has made quite a name for himself in male fashion and fitness photography. Ben has been featured in Adon magazine, DNA AUstralia, our own Fashionably Male and various other publications. Finding Ryan in the Beach Ryan and Ben decided to go to the beach and Ryan took off his Aussiebum speedo and laying over a fish net posing like a Greek God. Having Ryan’s physique is taking to much quality time on the gym, focusing on every meal including mindfulness and good skincare plus hair products.

    Marty Riva

“I never saw myself as a Model” – Joem Bayawa presents Marty Riva “I never saw myself as a Model” – Joem Bayawa presents Marty Riva Who shares his personal journey on the modeling career & life in a portfolio built and developed in Chicago. Professional fashion photographer based in Chicago Joem Bayawa–took in another level– how to build a professional portfolio. For this moment, let’s enjoy this journey of the beginnings from Marty Riva, let’s dig who this guy is, where he wants to go and his very first time fashion-moment. About Marty Riva “I grew up in a small area in the northern part of Illinois, mostly know for the National Park, Starved Rock. I grew up with my mother, as my dad was not a big part of my life.” “My mom did her best to serve as both parents, she was the one who pushed me to do better in sports, attended all of my games, grounded me when I did wrong and comforted me when I was down.” You can do whatever you set your mind to His mother said to Marty some magical words, “you can do whatever you set your mind to” Marty continues, “she always gave me confidence in whatever I was doing by consistently letting me know that” “Carrying this mentality through life gave me the confidence I needed to try new things, get out of my comfort zone, grow as a person and venture into new activities like sports.” I have been playing sports since I was in fifth grade And we noticed in Joem’s new work “I started playing football and basketball and had no problem excelling because of my size and natural athleticism.” Marty continues, “I have to admit, I would have never played sports if my mom hadn’t pushed me too, I even tried to quit in the seventh grade but my mom made me finish out the season, for which I am eternally grateful for.” Can you imagine Marty being a shy guy? well he admitted here: “I have always been shy my entire life and always needed a little push to get out of my comfort zone and really experience life. This issue is something that sports helped me overcome, it taught me the meaning of hard work, team work and comradery.” In High School Sports was what Marty lived for, every day he was on school and then he workouts for either basketball or football and he said “I loved every second of it.” He always had aspirations to become a professional football player. “It was when I got to college that physical challenges came in to play. I played my first full year of football at Augustana College and it went very smooth as was able to show coaches the potential I had for upcoming years.” Sadly he was plagued by three ACL tears, one right after another. Now, it was time to grow up. “Sports played such a pivotal role in my life” Marty confess, “my entire life I have always been kind, laid back, and calm. I was never that outgoing person that everyone reached out to hang out with.” “I always seemed to feel alone, like I had no one to talk to. My mom was always around but she owned a bar and was constantly working and stressed out about work, my dad lived half way across the country and I am an only child so I had not company from siblings.” “This is why sports played such a pivotal role in my life, it helped me develop lifelong friendships, helped me learn how to grow bonds and also taught me the importance of being a role player and doing your part to help the team reach a goal.” “I needed to get out of my home town” “After college was over and my chances of becoming anything in sports vanished, I was left to face the real world. I needed to get out of my home town because there was nothing for a recent graduate there unless you were taking over a family business.” “This is what brought me to the beautiful Windy City. I got a sales job in Chicago selling office printing technology. Now I know this sounds like it was the most exciting thing to talk about but, I promise, it wasn’t.” “I eventually started to dread going into work so after about a year and a half of working in the corporate world, I knew I needed a change.” “This was when I started to do some self-reflection and look back on what else I enjoyed in life other than sports.” The answer was real estate. “I had always watched HGTV with my mom and was fascinated by how people could transform a run-down home into someone’s dream home. That fascinated me, however, it isn’t that easy to start doing. You have to build capital or find an investor, you have to build relationships with contractors, you have to learn all about the ins and outs of a home and you have to have time.” Marty affirms, “I started this journey by helping clients buy, sell and rent their home. This didn’t seem to get me any closer to what I wanted to do, flip homes.” “When modeling became an option, I knew I had to get out of my comfort zone yet again and try something new.” My Journey Into Modeling The model revealed to us in an essay, “My girlfriend is the main reason I got into modeling. She always told me I should try it out and go to open calls but I never saw myself as a model or someone that would even be comfortable in front of a camera. But I like working out so why not get paid for the results, right?” “She kicked into another gear when she sent me a list of agencies with open calls and since I had free time because being a real estate agent, I have a flexible schedule, so why not give it a try.” Riva confessed to us, “I went to open calls at MP and Ford but was disappointed with the short meeting that both ended with, «we’ll reach out to you if we are interested». Of course this is where I thought my modeling career would end, I didn’t have experience, I didn’t have pictures and no one wanted to represent me.” He was introduced to Joem Bayawa “Luckily, I met a great friend at an open call, Zack. Through him the modeling world opened up for me. He invited me to an event on the Mag Mile. Here, I was introduced to Joem Bayawa. Toward the end of the event Joem came up to me to ask if I have ever tried modeling and I told him about my failed open calls. This didn’t steer him away, he saw potential in me, we exchanged numbers. After a two hour phone call and a couple of messages back and forth with Joem, we set up a day to start building my portfolio.” “When I first showed up to Joem’s home, I was greeted with a hug and a friendly smile.” Marty continues, “we started to talk and build some rapport. After about an hour of getting to know each other we started to do hair and makeup and get ready to get my first photoshoot on its way.” “Everything that Joem did for me really made me feel confident and comfortable in front of the camera.” “I was able to get a great amount of experience just in that first day with multiple wardrobe changes and tons of coaching.” “After our first shoot we scheduled another to continue to build the portfolio.” The shooting we are looking at, was at Joem’s studio, downtown and at Montrose beach by Lake Michigan. Then also, in an extended greenery forest preserved in Chicago. During this time Joem was in contact with the Director of DAS Model Management and it was after our second shoot together that Joem introduced Marty to Steve Wimbley from DAS. “Before I was able to sign with DAS I had the chance to have my first model experience with an outdoor runway show.” ”My first runway show was one to remember.” “It was outdoors on one of the hottest days of the summer and we were walking on a black runway. The first couple outfits had us wearing shoes but the last one, did not. I got onto the runway and immediately felt my feet start to burn.” “I told myself I had to suck it up and walked the whole runway, just a little bit faster than normal. After the show was over I had to immediately ice my feet and the pain ended up being so bad I had to go to the ER to get the blisters cut off and get properly treated. Needless to say, but my first modeling experience will be one that I will always remember.” “Today, I still continue to work and build my portfolio. I am looking forward to learning more about the business and turn this into the career of my dreams.” You guys, you know how important is to be near by people who can push you further–not to bring you down– everything in life is meaningful. This is just one example of thousand and thousands of Americans who try really hard everyday. Don’t give up, if they said no, continue, never give up. Be persistent. If you want to be a male model, and you are based in Chicago, and want to be in touch of Joem Bayawa‘s work, I will let his social media down,

    Juan & Cesar Hortoneda

Today Featuring #HortonedaTwins by Joan Crisol – Exclusive If you think you have enough about Papi Crisol, well sorry for you, this is the time to remember this hashtag: #HortonedaTwins. Juan and Cesar Hortoneda Spanish famous twins opens this Wednesday in a iconic pictorial set by Crisol exclusive in Fashionably Male. Hortoneda hottest Spanish Twins Born in Madrid Spain, Cesar and Juan, they started to modeling at a very young age. “I started modeling 5 years ago with my twin brother. A photographer saw us in a street and decided to do a shooting. Best about modeling is to be able to travel, know new cities and cultures, language and meet new people.” –Cesar. One of his highlights in the modeling career are working for Bruce Weber and Mario Testino. Juan said, “since then I’ve been working a lot. One of most important jobs were with the great photogrpahers Bruce Webber and Mario Testino, among others.” But that was over 8 years ago, and now they’re coming hottest and sexiest than ever. Crisol meets Hortoneda Joan said to us, “they are very good friends, I’ve known them for a while, I’ve decided to work with them and help-’em with this updated portrait.” Crisol is amazed by the beauty of the Twins, “they are wonderful, can you tell? one of their fist work was with Bruce Weber!” For the shooting twins trusted on Crisol work, which we have mentioned so much lately, but because is very very damn good. Hot Twins on Modus Vivendi The Twins are modeling and posing with Super Low Cut Brief in color Lime and Grenade, try it to show off your six-pack (and other assets!). Of course they are very comfortable using that kind of cut briefs, is not the firs time, they’ve worked for Givenchy, Mango, Elio Berhanyer, Roberto Torretta, just to name a few. The relationship with Modus Vivendi and Joan Crisol has been increased throughout this year, as we can see in the work published in several digital blogs across the world. Can I suggest Horteda Twins be the next face for Christos Bibitsos’ Modus Vivendi Campaign? “Walking down the catwalk make me feel very important, because everyone is watching you at that time. My brother Cesar and I have mainly worked for the European market, so I can not comment on other markets, but this very booming both Asia and Brazil. They are very very popular.” As you can see the work is indoors, in a Madrid Studio, where Joan is used to work every time. The models–under Crisol direction– are pretending how lovely, sexy, hottest, they can be each other in front of Joan’s lens. But the Twins are following a Healthy lifestyle For years, Cesar and Juan has been training on gym indoors and outdoors in a professional scale. They are living for the good life, they are so dedicated to have a nice healthy lifestyle, they like sports such as Tennis and Football. For Cesar is swimiming, football, basket and running and Juan tennis, soccer and basketball, to be specific. They like to eat nice meals like for Cesar is Spanish omelette and a nice meat and for Juan a paella, potato omelette, pizza. But they have a guilty pleasure: for Cesar is Chocolate with almonds and Juan is pure chocolate. The love between Twin brothers or sister is a connection we can’t describe. Is a pure love between link human beings from the same womb. It’s estimated that only 3% of the population is a twin and with such small odds, it’s no wonder why most people are so intrigued by the idea. Despite popular belief, twins are not clones of each other. Twins don’t share the same fingerprints for example because even though they share a womb, they sit in different places in the womb, which gives them a different set of prints. They also don’t share the same DNA because studies have found that identical twins can have different DNA sequences. While we’re on the topic of science, it’s also important to remember that boy-girl twins are almost never identical, but fraternal — except in cases of a rare chromosomal defect. Because of the fact that people are constantly comparing twins to one another, you might think that a twin would end up with a competitive nature. It’s actually the opposite though. Many are so used to comparisons that competition doesn’t affect them as much as it does other sets of siblings. These circumstances are hard to explain to someone who isn’t a twin and can make people frustrated sometimes, but it just comes with the territory.

    Josué Ullate

This is the calling The Comeback of Dancer Josué Ullate – Shots by Joan Crisol So let’s begin with this art class by photographer Joan Crisol. Madrid-based photographer is a huge collaborator with us and a very good friend. It does not seem to have limits. He knows well what it is to overcome himself. Recognized with the Positano prize for the best revelation dancer, Josué Ullate spends hours and hours rehearsing at the Theaters del Canal. At 24, he is emerging as a great figure. We’re gonna phrase some good highlights from an article of elperiodico.com where he has a big spot in the Spanish media press. “I have never expected anything that happened to me. The Positano came in a hurry. I couldn’t believe they had thought of me. ” He has also been a finalist for Max as best male dance performer. “Another immense joy.” Josué This time he took some beautiful shots with dancer Josué Ullate after ending 2019. This is an exclusive and the first launch of the pictures. The Comeback of Josué Ullate to our webzine We met in 2016 thanks to Joan Crisol, and we never forget him. In that period of time, Josué looks so slim, beautiful toned body, and very sophisticated appearance. Now, he looks more handsome, he looks masculine, with that hairy chest and beard. He looks so damn good. He even left his hair long. When he was a child, he was very good at playing football. “I loved it. The truth is that ballet didn’t appeal to me,” he recalls. One day his father, Víctor Ullate, told him to try a class. “At first I felt weird with the tights, but I got hooked. I was not bad and had good physical condition.” He faced prejudices, and judging by others. “I was wearing ballet clothes in my backpack and I was very careful not to see the shoes or anything. In school I was afraid to say that I danced,” he recalls. The shooting happened in the last month of 2019, at Joan’s studio in Madrid Spain. Josué and Joan they are so good friends, they always keep in touch and Josué give a call to Joan to make this shot happened. Art Class with a hot ballet dancer We know because we have published so many stories from Joan and he has working with international ballet dancers from all over the world. Formed entirely in his father’s school in Madrid, he is currently a soloist with the company Víctor Ullate Ballet-Comunidad de Madrid. “For me, he has been the best.” It is his great reference. “I carry his last name with great pride. At first it weighed more, I guess I have been maturing. ” Of his companions, he especially admires Joaquín de Luz and Roberto Bolle. He is considering leaving Spain. “I think it is necessary for a dancer to know new environments and new companies to continue growing.” But he has this other side to explore being a male muse. Josué and Joan teaches one good lesson, friendship matters and ballet dancers are the best male models on earth. Because you know they have this aesthetic looks, they have a beautiful male body, a beautiful face, and good skin. Yeah we have to admit that they are ballet dancers, and this practice gives you a notoriety when you’re in front of the camera. I want you to take some time to appreciate this beautiful work, this work can motivate, can inspire you, can even lift you up. Recently, he danced before the Guernica of Picasso in Reina Sofía. It was the first time in history that a dancer did this. “It was a pass. A huge intense mix of sensations.” Quiebro, a choreography in tribute to Enrique Morente, with his music, was a single of marked Spanish dye that was born as a lament, like a torn scream. Examine the body moves of Josué, appreciate the angles from Joan’s camera lens. The set lighting is exceptional. Beautiful work. That’s why Joan was turned viral by many of you because you really love his work! All the best compliment for this young man and Joan Crisol mentioned that he was very happy work again with Josué. His is geometric splendor and unlimited talent. With 24 years, the dancer, son of Víctor Ullate, is postulated as one of the great future bets of Spanish dance.

    Gabriel Ortiz

20 Questions with Mister Model Mexico 2019 Gabriel Ortiz Shots by Chris Femat We can tell the happy sexy and gaze of Gabriel Ortiz’s look–who life–changed forever upon hearing his name announced in the Mister Model Mexico 2019 contest. This time we want to know the emotions this boy–straight from Colima Mexico–lived during the event, and thanks to photographer Chris Femat we have the exclusive of this interview for all our readers. Fashionablymale: Hi Gabriel! Please mention your stats, measurements, where you coming from and age. Gabriel Ortiz: I’m 21 years old, 6’0”, 182 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes, my agency is Mr Model Mexico by Oscar Servin. And I’m from Armería Colima Mexico. FM: First of all, CONGRATULATIONS! You earned your new titled Mister Model Mexico 2019! Tell us, how was your beginning in this journey. GO: Thank you very much, a pleasure to meet you, and this trip began a few months ago, at home when director of Mr Model Colima invited me to do a casting to represent my State in the national event of Mr Model Mexico, obviously, I prepared for the casting and thank God a week after I was happy to be the representative of Colima, for the national. It was an arduous, hard and complicated work, preparing me with theater, diction and body expression classes with coach Héctor Castañeda and dance and also body expression with coach Alejandro Franco, both excellent teachers who were a fundamental piece for me to be able to give the best of me. I also received catwalk classes, general culture classes with my director Aron Cervantes who was always on top of everything and never left me alone on the most complicated and difficult days. FM: Who saw the power in you to be a model? GO: No doubt, Aron Cervantes who saw the potential in me. Who I still work with for international pageant. FM: Is your family your big support for this journey you’re now on. GO: At the beginning it was difficult for my family to understand what I wanted since no man had participated in a beauty pageant before, it was always women who participated and they were doing very well. I made the decision to follow my dream but I was judged and criticized, but there was no doubt they supported me so much, from start to finish, that I had the happiness of having my parents in the final event, at which time we all got together and shared the same joy. FM: What are your aspirations in the modeling world, where do you want to go? GO: To be honest, more than an aspiration, is to do everything with passion, because I really like this world and if it’s a Local Brand or International Brand or Designer, for me is a pleasure to work with. FM: We know by Chris Femat, that you had a role on TV Series “Rosario Tijeras”, would you like to be an actor? GO: 😂 I think he was confusing about it. I had a role on “El Señor de Los Cielos”, which is similar and both are very successful. Well, for me as a model, an actor-in-training, all this, is a life experience, because very few have the opportunity to carry out these activities and for me all this is spectacular, not only interpreting, but also handling cameras, directing, wardrobe and especially the final result. FM: How is working with Chris, how do you guys meet each other? GO: Working with Chris Femat, I would say that has been excellent. He’s a highly trained and professional photographer, whom I have all my confidence and met in the city of Tecoman, since months before my national competition he came and we did a photo-session, I was amazed with his work! FM: Tell us how did you find out about participating in Mister Model Mexico? GO: I found out about Mr Model México approximately 5 or 6 years ago due to all the impact it has on social networks and I am very moved to want to participate 4 years ago, I tried and due to circumstances of fate it was not given to me, this is when I say that God’s times are eternal and perfect, I wanted so much to participate in this event that God gave me the opportunity to do it and in the best way. FM: How did you motivate yourself to participate in Mister Model Mexico? GO: My motivation was always to transcend I did not see the national pageant far and it was never in my head to give up, I also want to mention that thanks to Gabriel, Gustavo, Iván, Efraín, Alberto, Cesar, Benjamin, Ismael and Jaime all of the Mr Model team Colima and Mr. Model Jr Colima gave me their advice and good vibes. One day before leaving for the city of Toluca. Just when I was on the plane my concentration began and I began to talk to myself: “Gabriel you can do it, you come to make history, have fun, enjoy it!” Gabriel There was so much emotion at that moment I had tears, because I was fulfilling a dream, hours before the final event I remember that I was very nervous—so much—that I was shaking, I started watching videos of Hans Briseño and Diego Garcy to motivate me I remember a phrase that I said exactly 30 seconds before going on stage “whatever God wants” and I left to give the best of me. FM: What exercise or diet routines did you have to do during the Mister Model Mexico contest? GO: Diet as such I could not do during the concentration, since we did not have time, all day we had activities, but the organization had us well fed and healthy food. I only did the outdoor activities with the Coah Colucci because I tried to focus more on the mental state, they were very low temperatures and a high altitude that I was not used to and it cost me a lot of work and I did not want to have physical wear for the activities that coming, the day of the final event, I trained at the gym at 7 in the morning and did something quick and working on my weak points to be able to look good on stage. FM: All the effort, hard work you put into this event paid off, how did you feel when you won, what happened to your head? GO: My mind went blank for about 30 seconds. I did not know what was happening, I turn to see my family and they jumping, clapping and screaming and I flooded with tears, and at that moment, my mind turns 360° and I start to see the Gabriel of about 10 months back and Gabriel now, I start to think everything that cost me, ride on my motorcycle to city of Tecoman, a guy from the Armería 7 days a week, always fighting against time, exposing myself to thousands of things. “I felt joy, satisfaction, emotion, there were thousands of mixed feelings, without a doubt a unique and incomparable moment.” Gabriel To finish, let’s answer the first thing that comes to your mind Gabriel. Favorite Movie: “Pearl Harbor.” Favorite song to train at the gym: The Nights by Avicci. Favorite dessert: Chocolate cake. Favorite meals: Yakimeshi, Beef cake, stuffed chicken breast, and corn pozole. Favorite actress: Emma Watson. Favorite Sport: Volleyball. Favorite Book: The Knight in Rusty Armor. What you wear to sleep: Only boxers. Best compliment: “Together forever.” What do you like most about your body? My arms 💪. Thanks Gabriel for being at Fashionably Male, and let’s enjoy this work with Chris –thank you guys, this is splendid.

    Assad Shalhoub

Born to Be A Champion Exclusive Interview with David Vance and Assad Shalhoub – PnV Network I haven’t done one of these model interviews in a quite a while, but for this one I jumped at the chance to get up close and personal with someone I long admired for his talent and dedication to his physique. I’m super excited to present the collaboration of two all-time favorites of mine, the Adonis ASSAD SHALHOUB and Photographer DAVID VANCE, in no less than a GLADIATOR themed shoot! You may know Assad from his many selfies on Twitter and Instagram, especially of his ABS! The 25 year old, model, actor and super fitness enthusiast as appeared on the cover over twenty romance novels and is clearly is currently in the shape of his life! BTW, my favorite answer from Assad, was when I asked him What he wore to sleep and he said “Just sheets”! In addition to talking with Assad, I was honored to have a brief and candid chat with the incredibly artistic photographer DAVID VANCE. PnV: You’ve photographed Assad few times, what is it like to collaborate with him? DV: Challenging. He is a perfectionist. Occasionally he has a different idea about how he looks best, and we don’t always agree. 😊 He definitely likes to have a say in what’s going on. PnV: Did I say he was a bit of a megalomaniac, or highly opinionated? DV: Not at all, just very enthusiastic and totally involved. 🙂 PnV: You do such amazing and artistic shoots; do you usually have a concept in mind for a specific model or session? DV: Initially no. The first shoot is pretty organic. I like to spend the first part of a shoot getting acquainted, and trying to determine what lighting works best. My main goal is to capture beauty from my point of view, through the lens of my life experience. PnV: I was so excited about this gladiator themed shoot with Assad, he has the perfect body for it, how did this shoot come together? DV: Assad contacted me because it had been quite a while since our last shoot, and he was in ‘shoot shape.’ Plus, he was psyched to do some kind of gladiator shoot. I had just refurbished the helmet and purchased some other props, so it worked out well. PnV: Having worked with Assad over several years, has he changed at all from when you first photographed him? DV: His body has changed. He was much bulkier before. Now he’s quite lean and totally ripped! He’s all natural which makes for a body that is more in keeping with my personal aesthetic. He’s more like an athlete than a bodybuilder. And now for the main event, ASSAD. PnV: OK Assad let’s start off getting your stats out of the way. What is your height, weight, age, eye/hair color? Current representation, if any? Assad: 6’0″. 190. Brown/Black. Seeking representation and in conversation with a few agencies. PnV: I know your Lebanese heritage is important to you and I believe you were born in Canada but have been in The States for years, right? What’s the back story here? Assad: I’m Lebanese because of my parents. Canadian because my mom was waiting for her documents, and if I was born two months later I would’ve been born in America. I’ve lived in the United States my whole life. (Currently residing in Florida) PnV: I’ve been a fan of yours for several years, but I’d be hard pressed to describe your personality. Many of the pics & posts on your social media are seductive, even a bit mysterious and a few seem moody. Is that the real Assad? How would you describe yourself? Assad: Yes, it does seem like I follow a theme which is dark and brooding, but when people meet me, they see that I am quite the opposite of what I display on social media. I’m trying to show more sides of myself on social media, because as an aspiring actor, I can’t limit myself to just one trait. PnV: I know you have a couple of tatts, that have special meaning for you, especially the one on your hip. Can you please describe it and what it’s significance is for you. And BTW, so glad you haven’t gone ink crazy all over your beautiful body! Assad: The tattoo on my hip is an Arabic phrase hidden in freestyle drawing. PnV: You’re a massively busy person with many interests. It almost seems like your multiple people, international model, romance book cover heartthrob, fitness and sports fanatic, have a thriving professional training & coaching business and you’re also in medical school, right? Did I leave anything out? Assad: For a long time, I juggled being a full-time student, full time job, and pursuing the entertainment business. It wasn’t easy. If I didn’t change my lifestyle, I would’ve burnt out. Since I’ve finally graduated, I can finally give my all to pursuing the entertainment business. PnV: How did you get into modeling? Assad: I was always in shape because I was involved in lots of sports during school, and on top of that, social media was really getting popular as I was in high school. I started posting a lot of gym selfies, so then a photographer named Luis Rafael reached out to me. He had a big following on Facebook, so that was really my first shoot. When he posted the first photos, the rest is really history. PnV: What is it like being the cover model on dozens of romance novels? How does that experience differ from your other fan bases? Assad: The book cover world is very weird. I wouldn’t say there’s many people who actively TRY to be a book cover model. The reason I say that is because the first photo I booked a cover for was taken at a spur of the moment shoot. It just so happened that an author saw the photo and wanted it for her cover. PnV: You’ve worked with David Vance a few times, what is it like to collaborate with David? He does such amazing and artistic shoots; does he usually have a concept in mind like this stunning gladiator shoot? I was so excited about this “300” themed shoot, it’s so PERFECT for YOU! How did this shoot come together? Assad: David and I have created some amazing work together. We try to brainstorm before coming into the shoot, but sometimes things happen on the fly. The “300” shoot is something that I have long wanted to do, and I think David captured the vision extremely well. PnV: OK you have an insane physique and I know fitness is an important part of your life. Can you discuss why it’s such an integral part of who you are? Assad: As I alluded to earlier, I’ve been playing sports for a very long time. Being athletic has been important to my whole life. As I grew up, I became more aware of nutrition and health. Between studying it in school and trial and error with my own physique, I decided I wanted that the next step, and that (was) sharing my knowledge with other people. I didn’t have someone like, myself to help me and I can save people a lot of time and energy by directing them in the right direction very early on. Motivating someone to change their life for the better makes all the blood sweat and tears worth it. PnV: While you always had a superhuman body, it looks like currently you are in the best shape of your life! Super lean and cut. First is that the case and can you please describe your body transformations over the years. Assad: I would say that is the case. It seems like every year I figure out how to do something a little better. I played football in high school and had aspirations to (play in) college. My highest weight was 220 lbs. I didn’t like that feeling so over the next five years since then I did trial and error to perfect the balance between aesthetics and strength. I still strive to improve every day. But yes, right now I feel like I am the best I have ever been but there’s always room to get better. PnV: Can you describe your current workout and fitness regium? Besides working out what else do you do to stay in shape? Assad: Health and fitness is a 24 hour 7 day a week task. Every meal, every workout, water intake, every hour of sleep, etc… has to be as on point as possible. I train twice a day, early morning fasted cardio and abs and then the weight training at night. Everything that happens in between those workouts and after have to be set up in a way so I can perform at optimal capacity. PnV: If someone wants your gladiator body, what advice would you give them? Assad: It is cliché, but this doesn’t happen overnight. I first built my garage gym at age 15 and now I’m 25. I have been nonstop since then. I’m sure if I had the right knowledge early on it would have taken much less time but our bodies are so complex that figuring out the right way of doing things is a challenging task. I would say just keep at it and don’t be afraid to ask for help. PnV: What is the body part you’re most proud of (from a fitness perspective)? I have a $100 bet it’s your ABS! LOL Assad: I am known for my abs yes lol. My arms and legs are pretty close, but yes would win that bet. PnV: YES!! PnV: What fitness suggestions would you give to us non-gladiators, someone who wants to start working out or just get into better shape? Assad: The best time to start was then, the second best time to start is right now. Have a plan, throw out the junk food in your pantry, and set your mind right. Ask for help and if needed hire a trainer. Use all the tools that the internet provides us and do INVESTIGATIVE research. Don’t believe the first thing you read. And then go out there and apply it. Don’t get discouraged if the results aren’t immediate. Fitness is a lifelong journey. PnV: As an avid fan of yours, I know you have some opinions on the current state of world affairs. I don’t want to get too political, but if you follow me on twitter as @ModelViews you know I don’t always do that well with keeping my views to myself. With such diverse fan bases, literally all over the world, women and men is there anything you want to say regarding what seems like the rise of hate, violence and intolerance and the possible retreat of some of the gains we’ve made on equality and the human experience? Assad: The world has always been a mess. If the internet was invented during the crusades or even the world wars (imagine Hitler with access to Twitter), I’m sure it would have seemed much worse than it is today. There are a lot of good things happening and we try and focus on those. However, it seems like the bad is always pumped into our consciousness. I’m from the Middle East and have seen firsthand the atrocities that occur. I believe that seeking the truth is what a decent human being should do. Humans have a set of basic rights and many people don’t receive them, so it is our job as the fortunate ones to do whatever we can to eradicate ignorance and hate from this planet. PnV: What can we expect from Assad over the next few years? Which of your passions will be dominating your future? Assad: The next five years are crucial for my career. I don’t like jinxing myself but if my vision manifests into reality, it will be extraordinary. OK time for the lightening round, quick questions with simple short answers. PnV: Tell us something about you that would surprise most of your fans/our readers? Assad: I think there’s many things, but I keep a journal and write poetry in it sometimes. PnV: What artist/song are you currently listening to? Assad: Meek Mill – Outro (Ft. Lil Snupe & French Montana) PnV: What about when working out? Assad: Hard Rock, Rap, and EDM PnV: Latest movie you saw? Assad: “The Kingdom” PnV: Favorite food? Assad: That’s hard. Anything terrible for you. 😂 Chicken Parmesan on a bed of spaghetti or something like that comes to mind. PnV: Cheat meal? Assad: That’s like a six-course thing! lol. I’m partial to an obscenely large burgers and fries! PnV: Dogs, cats or neither? Assad: Dogs. PnV: Boxers or briefs? Assad: Briefs or nothing. PnV: What do you usually wear to sleep? Assad: Just sheets.

    Alex Bueno

We Want More of Joan Crisol & Alex Bueno – Exclusive Interview They did it again, in a private raw portrait with Spanish Alex Bueno, the photographer–base in Madrid–talks in exclusive. Joan Crisol experience more than 15 years in portrait/fashion photography we have published so much articles about his work. One was a very special featuring with Alex Bueno a Spanish provocateur Instagrammer muscle adonis with 212K followers. We find the perfect moment to show you how’s the mind of a creative thinker, since his experience working with human body. Until his work with such big brands like ES Collection, Addicted, Modus Vivendi and more. Let’s read this exclusive interview with Joan: How was your experience working with Alex Bueno? As always very funny, Alex is just as crazy as me, and we love to get together and try to see what comes up. This session was not prepared at all (actually I usually prepare very little…) we stayed one morning, rented a car and went to a park in the city of Madrid. Making the pictures we were passing by people cycling every minute … hehe. What was your inspiration to go into the forest with Alex? We had several study sessions and we both wanted to change a bit. This was the outdoor option closest to Madrid, where everyone goes to exercise. After that, it is already allowing us to take both. I like that everything comes up naturally, in this sense I do not like for example to ask my models to undress. If they are comfortable and they want it, they will tell me, they already know what kind of photography I do. Joan is a punky photographer What are your next projects? I never know what I’m going to do next session. I’m the most punky photographer you can meet. I’m obsessed that everything has to be as organic as possible, and that only happens when I’m alone with the boy or girl. So I usually collect several ideas and I finish deciding in the same study. Yes, I always go with several ideas …just in case. With whom would you like to work, some model/influencer/celebrity that likes to work very soon? I love Nyle DiMarco! I think he has an incredible killer look and his smile melts me down., I’d love to work together! So please Nyle pay attention to this! For you Joan, what is the Human Male Form? It’s beauty, strength, sensuality, light, sweat, darkness, attraction… It is everything… That’s why I decided to dedicate to look every day in my life. I can’t feel more lucky and happier in my work. What advice can you give to the guys who want to work with you? Not because guys has good abs I’m going to run to ask him to take pictures. “The best model is the one that stops worrying about how his body will come out and relaxes and enjoys the work.” What has been your worst experience in photography? I have never talked about this, but surely my worst experience was when I fought with ES Collection and Addicted. I started with the brand almost since its inception and I became very involved and after many years I think we managed to break out and do something totally amazing underwear. But one day my partner then had a great conflict with the management of the brands and I got in the middle to defend it and in the end I decided not to work with them again. The truth is that I was very sad, because they were working together for many years and in reality nothing happened to me… but that’s the way life is… What has been your best experience in photography? “Every time I have someone in front of my goal and suddenly I am aware that he is going to let go and that we are going to create “together” I feel the happiest person in the universe.” You can not imagine how beautiful and special it can be. Also, right now I am involved in projects with brands that are relying heavily on me as a long-term project, especially Modus Vivendi and Code22, and that makes me feel very excited. My life is to shoot photos. What camera do you use for work? I’m using a camera Canon 5DS R, for my needs, and give me good quality, lens I use 16%35, 24/70 and my favorite 70/200 and lights Profoto. You say you’re very punky, how is working with Joan Crisol? Campaigns like Modus Vivendi, ES Collection that you have done, have been the best that those brands can have, how was your experience? Working for companies that are so big and that trust you so much is the best! Let’s see … I’ve been around for many years, I’ve been working in professional photography for almost 19 years, and it’s true that every day you learn something new. Actually this punk feeling is the evolution of the security that I have in myself. It’s the good thing about having already screwed up everything in life, I can afford the luxury of knowing that you DO NOT have to do it and enjoy it in a more organic way. Being a punk is really letting go without fear. Apart from this, I think that it is very good and healthy that even in large productions, our heads go a little and we let ourselves go, that is, let’s not fool ourselves, always taking into account the final value of the photo. By the way, leaving aside what I just said, I’m going to continue shitting for many years, is part of the grace of this office. Learning from the good and the bad. I’m more human than anyone. Who inspires Joan Crisol? Is there a book, movie, artist, actor, character that makes you vibrate with pleasure when you see his artistic work? I am an absolute consumer of all kinds of art. In photography my gods are Steven Meisel, Richar Avedon and Cecil Beaton. I’m obsessed with street art: Banksy, Kaws, Hirts, Murakami, Pejac. My favorite comic artist, which I think we eat visually everywhere, is Moebius, and I owe my existential vision to AKIRA of Otomo. I’m a little Otaku and a little freak… hehe. Joan, what do you think about copying your work? I do NOT mention “photographers” but you know that it is very very common for your work to be copied. Some who feel very offended, others who do not care, others who love you and how you feel about it. Yes, I copied a few…hehe… there are times that bothers a little, because I know photographers who have offered themselves for free to my models and they have searched and they have shot them in the same studio and even with the same props …God… all a little weird. Really, and this I swear, I do not think it’s bad that we have reference to other colleagues of trade, I can even see it as a nice tribute …but sometimes I get a bit of embarrassment from others …no need! If precisely I am the photographer from Madrid who shares the most with his colleagues: they write to me and they ask me and I tell them everything, I do not have any kind of secret. Actually I think the only thing that makes us different is our eye, everything else you find in studios; lights, touch-ups, plugins, etc. Many say that with the smart phones in the future, many works will disappear, you think that the photography disappears in the future? The truth is that I have more work than ever. Fifteen years ago I lived for Zero Magazine, and disappeared. Then came Playboy, FHM, Interviu, etc… and they all closed. Now they are brands of underwear and tomorrow God will say. “I do not think we should be afraid of changes, tomorrow will be totally different, but that even motivates me.” You have filmed videos, how has been your experience? Videos at the time I did a lot because I was director of photography of video clips of Undergrounds groups from the scene in Madrid. It was a very fun time, we did crazy things without money …But the production company I worked for closed and since then I have not done anything again. Just one day I encourage myself and come back. All the words you want to share are welcome, what would you say to your fans? Millions of thanks for always being there, I can not feel happier. “And I can assure you that I will continue learning and doing better every day.” Because you do not deserve less. Thank you always!
