The Hero We Need — Owen Hundt by Michael Hallenbeck Recently, we featured Owen Hundt, 22, in the April issue of PnV’s Fashionably Male Magazine. But, the “outtakes” were so awesome that we elected to bring you special BONUS coverage of the rising star. A few details from the interview: Owen is from Cleveland, Ohio and his father is a firefighter (whom we salute for being a first responder) and his mother is a realtor. Rugby is Owen’s passion. He started playing at age 13 and moved to lovely New Zealand at age 19 to better learn the game. He traveled the world playing rugby, but signed a contract to play professionally in Boston last year. He’s now a member of the New England Free Jacks of Major League Rugby. As for modeling, Owen was discovered on Instagram in December, so he’s a newbie to the modeling world The lens of Michael Hallenbeck captured just Owen a few months ago. “Working with Owen was a kick. When we met, I could tell he was a bit taken aback by the big city, even though he’s well-traveled. Our personalities hit if off very well. He adapted to the shoot quickly, and we had a nice little adventure shooting outside in the winter.” As for Owen’s future in modeling, Michael reflected, “I think the combination of him being an actual professional athlete, and his presence in front of the camera will ensure him a lot of success. He had only been on a few shoot prior to ours, but based on the shoot that day, I told him, ‘they’re all gonna come after you, kid,’ And they have!”

You can never consume all information, strategies and tactics available. Gathering input is necessary, but it means nothing without output. Think long term — like 10 years down the road. It’s always easier to enjoy watching TV compared to hitting the gym. Most people cling to instant gratification, because it feels good in the short run. Vedran comments on IG: “To my natural transformation which occured almost 7 years ago when I decided to workout and make the most of my body.” And he’s feeling inspired by this quote from Winston Churchill: “The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty.” Be 1% better everyday. After a year, you’ll be 3700% better. Do the math. It’s 3778.34%, to be more accurate. People aim for unrealistic growth over the short term, especially when they’re super motivated. Amplify your strengths. You can be anything, but you can’t be everything. If you have strengths, amplify them. For example, I have decent English writing and communication skills, and I use these strengths to teach English classes. Form your success cabinet and shoot for the stars. You’re the average of five people you spend the most time with, because that’s who you subconsciously set benchmark against. Give what you have. What are you rich at? Figure that out. You may think that you have nothing to give, but, in fact, you do. Everyone is rich in some way. Vedran comments on IG: “Some paths you will have to walk alone, sometimes there will be nobody around, somebody will crush you to your knees. What is your next move?” Solve real problems and adjust along the way. Solving imaginary problems can be helpful, but it’s often fear and procrastination in disguise. Difficulties are meant to rouse, not discourage. The human spirit is to grow strong by conflict. Keep a journal. Help your brain to keep up with its thoughts.

“Censored Tyler Ellis At Play” Photo Presentation by Phil Limprasertwong What happens when a 6’4” tall blonde ray of sunshine decides to cut loose and have fun? Well, it might look a lot like the brand new shoot of hunk Tyler Ellis by LA-based photographer Phil Limprasertwong. Recently, you met Tyler here on Fashionably Male with a feature interview and outdoor shoot (see link near bottom of page to view that article). This time, we go indoors with the fun-loving hottie from Vermont in “Censored: Tyler Ellis At Play.” Phil talked about what it was like to work with Tyler. “He brought a lot of fun and positive energy to set and was incredibly easy to work with. He does ‘sexy’ very well, so I wanted to keep that vibe for our shoot together.” He continued, “I love that he’s so comfortable in his own skin and isn’t afraid to try new things.” Phil explained that sometimes models can be too reserved and tense and that the shoot results in bland images, and a one-note face in every frame. Tyler, he commented, certainly doesn’t have that problem. The California-based model came to set prepared, having totally grasped the moodboard and executing Phil’s vision perfectly. Moodboards, according to Phil, “are basically a study guide given to models to help them understand what’s expected of them for the shoot. Surprisingly,” Phil added, “a lot of models don’t even look at the moodboards or study them and come to set unprepared.” Phil certainly expects big things in the future for the 24 year old actor/model. As for sexy Tyler, who was inspired to model by his hairstylist back in Vermont, he now loves living the shirtless life in warm Los Angeles. And Tyler admitted there’s a 10 out of 10 chance he’d shoot with Phil again, as he had a blast collaborating. “Phil used some lighting that I had never seen before, and it made the shots really stand out.” In addition, Tyler reflected about his shoot with Phil, “He’s very easy to shoot with and makes you feel comfortable.” Tyler explained his view of posing for sexy photo features. “The very first shoots I did were posing pretty much nude. It was a little weird at first, but I always knew my limits and I have a clear line that I won’t cross. As long as I stay congruent with my standards and morals, then I am pretty much game for whatever it is I am shooting. Personal Trainer, represented by DAS Management Trevor comes in a stunning session by Joem Bayawa in Chicago. A total motivator for many guys around the world, Trevor shared all his fitness secrets on Instagram his principal tool to be connected with you. The good thing is that Joem and Trevor did a very good job together, they connected and in the frames we’re about to see, reflects it. “Don’t worry about anyone else’s voice or opinion. They aren’t paying your bills or helping you make your way so why give anyone not supporting you any of your energy!? Trust yourself and make it happen!” Feeling motivated by Trevor is so easily, well he makes him easily for us. But let’s see where Trevor was born and how does this model start his career. About Trevor I grew up in a smaller city of Metro Detroit (Saint Clair Shores) with both parents until about 3/4 years old. I don’t remember my father much, I just know what my mother went through raising me as a child. She practically gave her life up to make sure I was raised properly. Luckily she had 8 brothers and a sister so there was always family around. By 4th grade I started playing football, thank to my best friend Adam. Guy brought me into the light of working hard and never giving up. Both these individuals were huge inspirations and driving forces for the work ethic, personality, and character I have today. “What’s your motivation?? Mine is my upbringing, didn’t have a father figure and wasn’t born into riches.. Was working at 14 and never stopped. All I’ve ever known was hard work through good times and bad times… Won’t say I’m my own motivation but the life I had and struggles made me never want to see some of those days again.. Find your why and make it happen!!” Trevor and an enrichment Sports Life I’ve played sports since 4th grade and continued by adding track and swimming and diving in high school. Throughout these years I would read magazine after magazine of bodybuilding, nutrition, and exercising trying to learn as much as I could to be able to help others achieve their goals as my friend Adam helped me. Knew personal training was the right pathway for me so went to school for exercise science and became a certified trainer when I was 21 years old. While attending Saginaw Valley State University I learned about a guy named Greg Plitt. Known for his motivation/inspiration Greg was the top fitness model in the world and ranked top 100 best looking males. Having seen his videos and reading his blogs I was inspired to get into modeling but didn’t have a clue where to start. Not knowing about the business or who to contact I just focused on working my craft and building the best physique I could do one day I could showcase and inspire others as Greg has. It wasn’t until 5 years later when social media and Instagram started booming when I found out about other photographers in the surrounding areas and how to go about setting up a photo shoot. I had one photographer reach out to me and set up a photo shoot after seeing my post on social media and with a few months completed my first photo shoot. Needless to say the experience wasn’t what I expected and was kinda turned off on the subject. I spent the next two years focused on my career and one day this photographer who I was following (Joem Bayawa) reached out to me. At first I was like hell no lol, after what I went through the first time I didn’t want it happening again. At first I declined but still kept in mind. “The skin you’re in is the only one you’ll have, before you can love others you must first truly love yourself.” Joem and Trevor co-workers Wasn’t until December 2017 when Joem reached out again and we started talking few hours here, few hours there, and upon doing so I knew it was going to be a different experience. At this time I was going through hell, financially, physically, mentally, and socially just at my lowest. Joem kept saying just do it and come out to Chicago. I think at the time I might’ve had a couple hundred to my name if that- I said the heck with it and went. I ended up taking a bus out to Chicago and I’ll say it was worth every cent. Joem and myself started off a little shaky with me not having any experience since two-three years ago. After the rust was off we created many great shots. “Joem is the photographer you want in your corner, not only a great photographer but also a wonderful friend.” Haven’t met such a selfless character, he might care too much but it’s this attitude he brings in his passion.

Joem Bayawa presents Taylor Earwood – Exclusive Taylor Earwood is a 26 year old up and comer hailing from Los Angeles. He started his modeling career originally behind the camera doing creative photography shoots. When his projects required a model he would often jump in and do self portrait work. He had so much fun working those shoots that he decided to pursue modeling as a profession rather than pastime. During the time he’s not shooting you can catch him flying all around the globe as he also works as an airline steward. He flies mainly domestically for work, but will occasionally venture to South America and the Caribbean if he can be back in time for castings. When asked about how this dual lifestyle works having two professions he said: “I love that my flying job lends me enough flexibility in my schedule where I can travel the world, and meet photographers to work with in so many cities. It really helps add a breadth of diversity to my portfolio that not a lot of models have. Plus it’s just wildly fun being in a new place every day.” Taylor Earwood Taylor is represented by Now What Model Management based in LA. When is about to experiment and be creative to shoot a new portfolio, Joem is in command. He perfectly knows the male form, so he easily executes and shots every angle. Obviously he tries to connect first with the model, talkative, be emphatic and try to be professional. In addition to being an international jet setter, he told us that his favorite hobbies include visiting his local library and participating in community events and volunteer programs. He helps coach a local water polo team when he has free time as well as hosts health and wellness events.

FM: How did you find motivation in this new era we’re living now? Does isolation affect your daily routine ? Isolation has really affected my daily routine. As a professional acrobat, my livelihood is through creative work and training, and unfortunately, the entertainment industry has really been hit hard. We are accustomed to training daily to keeping up our skills and conditioning our bodies to maintain strength. I’ve had to get creative with my workouts at home, and having no access to gyms or facilities to train. I’ve switched my mindset over to my yoga training and breathwork to help stay grounded so that when we can return to work and training I will be ready. FM: Pride is coming, in some major cities is cancelled, how are you spend Pride celebrations? I will spend Pride month celebrating with my husband and family. I notice you’re now with HBM Talent in L.A. Tell us about that. Are you moving to L.A.? Yes I am with HBM in L.A. I love it and we do some great things together. Sophie is the coordinator and she rocks it, always getting things done and making magic happen. I probably won’t be moving to L.A. though. I travel there very frequently but New York is my home. You were recently in a new Netflix movie that filmed in Montreal and Mexico. Tell us about the film, your character, the shooting experience…and when do you anticipate the release? Yeah I was just shooting for a documentary, “Changer D’avis”, which will be on Netflix. It’s a real life thing and it is based around a photoshoot I was on in Montreal. Its release will be next year in the early part of the year. Shooting and the whole experience was a lot of fun for sure. You also recently shot a TV commercial. Tell us about the ad….it looks like you play a bartender, which you do in real life (in addition to being a DJ)….you were qualified for that part obviously. I did do a TV commercial for Jericho Terrace in Mineola, New York. It was a lot of fun filming for this as well. The ad is on channels broadcasted all around New York as Jericho Terrace is a place that caters to many weddings. I think I did make a mean drink for that, would you like me to make you one as well? Believe me, I could use a mean drink right about now Career wise I try to get my hands in a little bit of everything, so every day something new is either going on, or something new is being thought about. You were recently on a book cover, the novel “Sweetwater Seduction” by Joan Johnston. You’re a cowboy, too….pretty impressive for a Big Apple city slicker. Who took the image? Tell us what you think about being on book c overs as I know it’s not your first rodeo. Do you ever read the books to see if the character is actually remotely like yourself haha? I actually just was in Barnes and Nobel today looking for that book but it was sold out. I had to practice my lassoing skills for that. But thanks I am glad you are impressed haha. The image was shot by Rob Lang and it was shot out in the Hamptons and old Westbury New York. I love being on book and magazine covers. Every-time one comes my way I feel so thankful and blessed. This is only possible because everyone that is on my side and backs me up ☺. I have read the books and I feel somewhat like the character as the image plays out in my head. How do you always have such perfect skin? It’s not perfect but thank you for thinking that. I had more skin care products than CVS, but I had been drawn to some specific ones recently. You have been modeling since you were 18. On Sept 19, you turned 31. How have you managed to last in a career that’s often times so fleeting? I think I have lasted so long because I try to keep up with the times and I always try to help out and give it my all. Or maybe it’s luck lol. But I definitely hard work for sure. From a personal perspective, what have you been doing lately, Phil? Any fun vacations or trips? Well i just had gotten back from Puerto Rico, which was a ton of fun. Knai came from well-off parents, his dad worked in the Royal Norwegian Air Force and his mom an entrepreneur. When he was three, they moved to B?rum, Oslo. While in school, Thor was involved in a variety of different activities like sports, martial arts, and role-playing which awoke his passion for acting. When Knai was 15, his mother found a casting call in the newspaper for a mini-series that was to be shown on NRK, a national television network. He was then referred by the impressed director to attend more auditions including the lead in feature film "Lime, 2001", although unsuccessfully. At this point in his life he had no real aspirations to become an actor. That happened later when he played lead in a high school cabaret which was awarded "Best high school cabaret of the year", an award he accepted in front of fifteen hundred people on a well known stage in Oslo, the "Chateau Neuf". Knai went on to star in another successful cabaret, his own amateur short film, and did some modeling. He was also active in he live role-playing community and hosted and participated in many such events. Thor graduated Nesbru High School with an International Baccalaureate Diploma spring 2003, with the highest amount of extra curricular activity hours. After finishing high school, Knai went on to join the Royal Norwegian Army for a mandatory year. He became Squad leader in a Storm platoon (mechanized infantry unit) in the 1st Armored Battalion. During this year he signed a contract to go on a NATO, ISAF7 (international security assistance force) peacekeeping mission to Kabul, Afghanistan. He subsequently served the tour of seven months as a combat medic. After completing the tour in Afghanistan, Knai went on to pursue his dream and was admitted to the New York Film Academy at Universal Studios in Los Angeles for a one year acting conservatory program set to begin September 2005. During his brief stay in Norway before leaving for LA, Thor auditioned for, and got a part in a big Norwegian reality show called "Filmstjerne" (Moviestar) after out-performing thousands of other actors. Thor was eventually voted off the show by the judges just in time to make his planned departure to Hollywood. He graduated the program spring '06 and went on to work on short films and minor parts in features like "He's Such a Girl (2007)" and "How to Lose Friends & Alienate People (2008)."
