Heres a post from Stefan about Flickr which was given as a review to my 'Expose Me on Flickr' tab. I want this brought out into the Convos section for general consumption and comment Flickr is going to be the next platform to perish, sure as hell. My account got deleted without any (!) warning the day before yesterday. I was extremely annoyed as I had marked all my adult content as such, thus preventing any minors from seeing it. I don't care for my media, I have them backed up anyway, but now all my 200+ contacts on there are lost! So I contacted the support team, and after two days got a run-of-the-mill reply tersely stating "Your account was brought to our attention through Report Abuse. Upon review, we determined that your content and/or behavior was in violation and your account was terminated." That annoyed me even more of course because I wasn't aware of having done anything violating their terms of service. So I had a closer look at their https://www.flickr.com/help/guidelines. Sure enough I suddenly discovered sentences such as "Don't be creepy. You know the guy. Don't be that guy. If you are that guy, your account will be deleted", "...zero tolerance policy towards distributing sexually graphic images of another person without that person’s consent" (never did that myself, anyway) and, on top of all, "We do not tolerate promotion of self-harm or the encouragement of others to do things that might cause them to get hurt". I was in fact quite startled. I have never read statements of that sort before and I seriously doubt these terms were actually in existence when I first joined flickr years ago. This clearly looks to me like some sort of post-factual whitewashing, as we are currently experiencing in nearly every facet of our everyday life. (Must have felt that way in communist countries, I guess.) What's more, I have the extremely bad feeling we are currently facing a deep-freeze age of anti-porn and anti-erotic sentiment online. Here's my response to Stefan on this topic. I had a couple of accounts deleted in the latest cull plus the sub_market group went as well so like Stefan I read the terms and conditions thoroughly too. What he says is absolutely correct. You don't have to actively violate any specific terms and conditions to get deleted. Their 'rules' are a whitewash of non-specificity to enable them to delete any user without come-back - even 'Pro' ones I understand who actually pay for the miserable service. So then it got me thinking more about it. There must be a criteria for inclusion in these mass culls. With IDs like mine featuring multiple fags and exhibitionists which have suffered deletion, I have previously thought that maybe its because one of those featured has wussed and asked Flickr to take the pictures down. Now I actually think the key is that 'flag photo' facility at the bottom of the page which enables you to mark a photo 'for review' Presumably this means it is reviewed by Flickr idiots and if deemed to break the rules in some way leads to a strike against your account and after a certain number of strikes you are deleted. Plausible in view of what Stefan says. So who flags the photos? It could be ordinary people who are offended by the images, or do-gooders who don't like seeing guys expose themselves so fully, or maybe vigilantes trying to suppress what they consider is porn but which could equally be interpreted as harmless self-expression. Strange how some Exposers seem to have gone a long time without getting their accounts deleted. Luck? On the latest venture using the new Flickr account (AJ Saakenen) , I am not featuring ID cards nor any pictures which might be considered too 'extreme' - I am also not uploading every image onto the Group 'man naked exposed' so the link between the uploading ID and Group is diluted. We'll see how that plays out but I am not expecting the ID to survive too long. Privacy and data protection laws are resulting in suppression of sexual expression as larger companies take steps to protect themselves against law suits (thanks a bunch USA and EU) But its also to do with insidious wokeness and political correctness infecting North America and Europe.
