I grew up in Colorado and Wyoming where I spent my younger years on horses and skiing and snowboarding the Rockies. What I remember most was the love of my father, his hot temper, my sister and I laughing, and the smell of grease on my hands as I worked on my 72' Chevy Monte Carlo. The pain of trying to fit in and make sense of my home life felt nearly unbearable a lot of the time and I spent many hours listening to music and dreaming about getting out of Cheyenne, WY. Excelling in school was an expectation in my home so I earned honors in high school and did well in sports starting with wrestling when I was 6 as well as track and cross-country. In my college years, I studied Psychology, Sociology and Criminal Justice at University of Wyoming and later studied Forensic Psychology at The California School of Professional Psychology. After college I worked as a therapist in the field of forensic psychology specializing in sex abuse committed by juveniles. I provided therapy to juveniles and their families in community-based programs, residential and detention centers. I also worked as a mediator in a victim-offender reconciliation program in California as well as in the Denver Small Claims Court. It was a chance meeting with a guy at a bar in Denver (who today is one of my best friends) that led to me trying out for a band that later became Strange Condition. Here I discovered my love for creating music with friends and expressing our experiences in song. Sitting in a dirty garage in Longmont, CO with a few beers and just an amp and a microphone we had the ability to powerfully tell our stories. I started modeling in Denver, CO when a friend suggested I earn extra money doing it part-time. I walked into Maximum Talent and told my agent and now long time friend, Rob Lail, that I was interested but that I would only model for two years and that I wasn?t interested in work outside of Denver?we still laugh about this today. Within two years I had moved to Chicago and then to Miami and travelled to most parts of Europe. I eventually made my way to New York where I lived for several years before settling in Columbus, OH (though my home and heart will always be in Colorado). I am so grateful that my work has allowed me to see a large part of the world and experience some of the most beautiful and interesting places and people. Some of my favorites are Istanbul, Cape Town, Iceland and Morocco. My current fitness regiment is predominately cross-fit based workouts as well as spinning, mountain biking and volleyball. I am an avid camper and enjoy anything that gets me outside and in the sun. Volunteering is a very important part of my life and I?m an active volunteer in various groups to including local soup kitchens and community action efforts at the church I attend as well as the Special Olympics and Make a Wish Foundation. Each year when I travel to South Africa I take food and medical supplies to The Ubuntu House in Cape Town that is halfway house for abandoned children. My goal is to one day build homes for the poor both domestically and internationally. My real job and passion is being a father to my daughter: Brielle. There are no words I could write here to even begin to express how being blessed with her has changed my life in every way. From the moment she came into this world and I wrapped my arms around her tiny body when she was set in the warming light in the delivery room I never wanted to be apart from her. Brielle has taught me how to truly love and deepened my relationship with God in a way that I never even imagined possible before she came into my life. She continually shows me how to laugh, to cry, and to forgive. Every day when I look at her I am reminded of how blessed I am and I am humbled by how much more I need to become so that she is cared for on every level. I?ve made a lot of mistakes in my life, but Brielle keeps me going and continuing to try and do better than I did before. She is the light that brightens every step that I take.
