Image auto tag programs and similar image finder apps

Adobe Lightroom: Face/finder grouper but all in all the app heavy and bulky. Batch tagging but no auto tag. 2/5

DigiKam: Face/finder grouper, "lightweight", has hoast of features for arranging images. 3/5

XnView MP: lightweight organizer, huge improvement to basic file system GUI. Similar & reverse search. Rating & tagging. 3/5

Any other apps? I'm trying to sort about 40 000 pics  :rolleyes:

Similar/reverse image finder apps are of many - most of aim to delete duplicates and doesn't offer much organizing tools for example grouping pairs. Compare them in my next post.

This is a very interesting and informative post.  I would be interested in exploring more tools.  

I currently only use tools that find exact duplicates but none that find similar or related images.

Duplicate Cleaner Pro

One can set either exact match or % amount of matching.

DigiKam also has rather good similar search. And digiKam is an excellent organizer <3

Dupeguru and Alldup are worthy of mention.. But Duplicate Cleaner Pro is fast and good.

I'll definitely check it out. My personal go to.program is Visipics which is fast, easy, and free.

Grown to absolutely like <3 digiKam over others when image organization, edit, batch etc. 

Some batch things I still do with XnViewMP but digiKam is so much abroader. Though it had a bit learning curve.

Quick browse of movie/avi/mp4/* files XnVIewMP still has a bit purpose due to fastness (del or not). But organization defo digiKam. Upcoming ver 6.0 of digiKam will have massively improved video file handling :)

Also - digiKam is open source and very proper coding - it's very stable compared to XnViewMP that sometimes get's mesmerized :D of amount of fast data handle.

If planning to have digiKam DB with over 50 000 files then check SQLite -> MariaDB.

oh yah, one thing more: digiKam has face recognition, so pics with faces it's easy and fast to group together

Interesting.  How do you 'teach' the system new faces?
