Just watching the MTM show on Hulu... I laughed to see ever-patient Mary, when she fired Phyllis.  (Narcissistic Phyllis coudn't bear being referred to as an "assistant", she wanted  "co-worker").

Loved that show. Betty White was a showstopper when she was on it. Everytime I see Mary Tyler Moore I think of that funny scene from "Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion"....

No doubt you've seen the MTM episode of Betty's character Sue Ellen in the posh vibrating bed.  Would to have a bed like that!  (Well, at least the  floor beneath my airbed vibrates, but that's because of my neighbor.  I think of him as bigfoot).  🙃

Whenever anyone mentions driving in Los Angeles, it always makes me think of the driving directions in "The Californians" series of sketches on Saturday Night Live about 10 years ago.  This is a compilation video containing several different sketches, but part of each one is about how to get from point A to point B in LA.

My chatmate in San Diego shared some of these SCTV vids with me a year ago, because he says they're so true to life.  He can't stand the way a lot of peope talk and put on such airs (esp the girls).  Timmy's a no nonsense guy and likes people to be natural, loathing the exagerrated speech and air.  As Timmy woud say, "I can't staaaaaand it!!"  Yet there he is, in sunny SoCal!
