I totally agree with this and I feel the same way about it. I also think soft candlelight can be very sexy and sensual and I like a little S&M so some hot candle wax dripped on me, a velvet blindfold and being tied up loosely with a velvet rope or velvet lined handcuffs are right up my alley. I won't go any farther than this because I don't like pain and I don't play all that dominant and submissive stuff, but if that's other people's thing, I have no problem with what anyone else does. I do speak my mind, though, and seeing a dominant person and a submissive person together is a huge turnoff for me and I don't want to get to know either of them because I don't see why people want to be treated horribly and be submissive when there are a lot of men and women who abuse their husbands/wives/children and the people who are getting abused don't have a choice a lot of times. I mean, yes, if a person puts their hands on me the wrong way I'm going to slice and dice them like a fish and pull a Loreena Bobbit by cutting it off and flushing it and then leave but, some people want others to torture, abuse and humiliate them for no reason? Hell to the no. Dominants and submissives are both being selfish because if it turns you on, either side of it, you are saying that you are ok with abuse as long as both sides want to do it. Try going through abuse that you cannot control, which does happen in some cases, as I have been, and then sit there and tell me that the dominant/submissive slave thing is perfectly ok and it there is absolutely nothing wrong with it at all. If you haven't been in a situation out of your control where you are forced to submit, you have no idea how it really is and if that stuff turns you on, don't even look my way because I don't like it or think it's cool or ok. I'm not judging anyone who reads this, I'm just giving you some food for thought. I'm not mean but I don't play childish games either and I speak what's on my mind when it's on my mind and this came to me as I was starting my response on the subject. Sorry for getting off topic and subject but for dominant/submissive relationships, you are actually advocating for abuse and saying that you are ok with it. I, however, am not ok with it being in a situation that I could not control. People need to think a little more and also address topics that are not addressed and stop letting others tell you how and what to think and believe. I don't want to be like anyone else because human society is so messed up and most people have forgotten humanity, morals and love. They are addicted to social media, desensitized to accept anything they are given and desensitized to accept things that a year or two ago would have not been acceptable at all. "People" and "so-called experts" say we are progressing but are we really or are we just comfortable with being fed propaganda to accept everything that is around us and no 1 wants to say anything like I did because they have humanity scared to speak out about and against something that they don't agree with. I have freedom of speech and so does everyone else but if you don't speak up you are part of the problem and never going to help bring a solution to anything. There are few people on this planet who are not afraid to speak their minds about things but I'm not scared. I didn't live through the equivalent of 3 lifetimes of hell before I was 35 to care about what other people think about me or what I say or if they disagree. Most people who don't like the raw truth do try to come at you if you don't or do say something that is true, and, therefore it offends them. No 1 ever said the truth is or was easy, but my give a damn what people think about what I say or about me, got thrown down on the floor on purpose and shattered. I'm not here to make anyone feel any kind of way because how you choose to feel about what I say is totally on you and up to you. If you are offended by what I say, that means that the truth struck a nerve and you don't want to hear the truth. I'm just trying to say think and speak for yourself and be an original and 1 of a kind person, not a replica of what others want you to be. I don't like a lot of light either and I have an aversion to sunlight or going outside. At night, when I sleep, it has to be very, very dark and cool temperatures around me and I love to snuggle under several blankets.

I agree with some of the previous commenters, the lights are not my main concern at the time, although I would say that dim lighting is often good.
