Virgin, aged 21, was from Key West, Florida, and brought to Bob by “a famous actor whom you have seen on the screen many times." Seems he saw Johnny working out at the Main Street boxing gym in L.A. and recognized rare talent. Bob wrote that he was a "natural-born extrovert" who loved to pose, but was also "a most un-cooperative model" and one of the few men we have found it necessary to dismiss before the end of the sitting." Still, somehow, Bob managed to make 10 films with him.
