By modern standards they would be very tame - and all processing had to be done by a lab - not a quickie on a smart phone or digital camera. Mike Arlen for the UK market uses to get the lads to get hard then with the use of a shoe lace manage to keep the offending beast off the horizontal!

That law lasted a long time.  There were no unrestrained erections in Mike's UK work until issue 14 of Mike Arlen's Guys I think.  Mikes work was the first gay porn mag I ever bough and I still find it incredible erotic now, the tied-down boners are a big part of that, and the uniforms/boots  😃
