As a young child, Erko left his war-torn homeland behind to find sanctuary in the Belgian city of Antwerp. At the age of sixteen, he started lifting weights to combat a leg injury and became addicted to working out. Encouraged by the owner and trainer at one gym, Erko decided to enter his first bodybuilding competition. On his debut appearance, Erko won the first of his three Belgian junior titles. In his second career as a male model, Erko has worked with renowned photographers such as Dirk Alexander, Kevin De Borger and Luis Rafael.
