Airline Terminals have really evolved over time... mostly for new technology and  security reasons... and aesthetics but I'm always nostalgic for the old International Terminal at LAX! I remember it looking like this(first image) like it was yesterday!

Check out Tony Orlando and Dawn on The Hollywood Palace in 1973 doing Yellow Ribbon. Tony's not wearing any underwear and flaunting an enormous bulge hanging to the right, just so you'll be sure to notice. If your YouTube rolls over to your big screen TV you will be amazed.

Airlines used prints and bright colors for their uniforms in the 60's and 70's. Uniform Design was very fashion-forward back then. Flying was fun and passengers dressed up for flights. It truly was the golden age of aviation.

This reminds me of John Schneider in "The Duke of Hazzards" tv series. He was so hot in the series.

The Pine Walk Collection:

An index of over 200 live DJ set tapes from gay NYC/Pines (1981-90)

These tapes were found in a recently purchased house on Pine Walk. There are well over 200 tapes in total and they are being carefully digitized and remastered and offered to stream for free on Mixcloud with permission from all of the living DJs.

An incredible Valuable part of LGBT history, now recovered and restored.

We were always in awe of the Braniff crew and their uniforms... never more so than the final uniforms and aircraft interiors done by Halston... When I started we had uniforms by Edith Head (of Hollywood costume fame) and the last ones were by Adolfo.  I remember we had a uniform change when our crew was in Australia.  I think we burned our old uniforms the night before.... On the flip side... I remember vividly seeing the hot pants clad crew walking though LAX and one of my coworkers said... "Oh they must be hiring hookers now at Southwest!

Once when I was in Colorado on my way home from a ski trip... we got stranded in Denver for a couple of days because snow closed the airport (in those days Stapleton International) and we checked into the hotel in the background... it was across the street from a store called May D&F that had a really fun ice skating rink in the plaza. The Store and plaza were designed by IM Pei... The store closed and none of this exists anymore not even the hotel...
