3. Scotty Cunningham - A Family Business! Updated March 6

   Celebrating another beautiful man.  I understand we lost him to the AIDS pandemic.  As the lover of Bruce Bellas (aka Bruce of Los Angeles) and the inheritor of Bruce's estate upon the photographer's death, he not only took the best photographs (as one of Bruce's favorite models) but he also very intelligently ensured the survival of BoLA's legacy.  He even involved his own brothers Chip and Toby (in a not-creepy, non-incestuous way!).   Again, these images are readily available but capturing an excellent portfolio of sensual male imagery.

   Having maintained an excellent reputation as a celeb portraiture and fashion photographer during his brief lifetime, the archive that the estate of George Platt Lynes bequeathed to the Kinsey Institute was a revelation - the same expertise in composition and lighting applied in celebration of the male nude.  Many of these images are available elsewhere but they ought to be duplicated as much as possible in this world of sometimes flat "insta-ready" imagery!

   RICHARD FONTAINE (1932-2002) worked under several different business entities during the physique era, including APOLLO PRODUCTIONS (usually credited simply as Apollo), Zenith (under which name Fontaine marketed his posing and storyline films, and sometimes credited in print as J. ZENITH), and he also marketed work under the name R.A. ENTERPRISES.
   Although Fontaine began his career on the East Coast, his business improved dramatically after he moved to Los Angeles and began working frequently with ATHLETIC MODEL GUILD photographer BOB MIZER, with whom he frequently shared models during both studios' halcyon years.
