Loved Benedict Cumberbatch in Sherlock Holmes. 

Benedict Cumberbatch does an amazing job in this film.  One would not know that he was not an American cowboy from Montana.  He can be brutal but also sexy at the same moment. The novel by Thomas Savage is also a powerful one, and worthwhile reading.  The ending even more shocking than the movie version.  It was praise at its publication 1965 but like "Brokeback Mountain," widely overlooked.  Thanks for the posting. 🙂  Yes, and Cumberbatch was good as Sherlock.  Great range as an actor.....and, yes, I think he's sexy 🙂

I am grateful for the information about the novel by Thomas Savage.
Everyone's work in the film is amazing, they deserve all the recognition they are getting! I'm rooting for Benedict at the Oscars and especially for Jane Campion.
