The Graphic Man I

The Graphic Man I

THE GRAPHIC MAN I. by Playgirl Press. Publisher: Santa Monica, CA: Playgirl Inc., (1979).

I've long wanted to know whether this book had images I hadn't seen. I"m happy to report that there are quite a few I've never seen before at all. (And believe me, I've looked!)  I'll start scanning and uploading them. Quite a few are the work of Norbert Jobst, who made Playgirl what it was in the 1970s.

Hi @rayjdearn Thanks for uploading.  Moved to Pictorials

The DC Playgirl Gallery is strictly for Playgirl Magazine models

@JoelR, the book was published by Playgirl Press, and every one of the models is in fact a Playgirl model. Would you mind moving it back? Thanks!

@JoelR, asking again, please move this album of Playgirl models, published in a book from Playgirl Press, back to the DC Playgirl Gallery. Thanks.

Verified the publication as coming from Playgirl Press and moved back to DC Playgirl.  Thanks for the reminder, and welcome to the community 🙂

Would anyone know why Norbert Jobst left Playgirl magazine?  His last centerfold that he photographed was Scott Dutton in February 1978.  To me the magazine was never really as good after he left.  The quality of the photography became variable thereafter.

@Gabriel I'm doing some research on Jobst. I want to know more about him. It's clear that Playgirl wouldn't be what it was without his work, and yes, the quality of the photography faltered for a long while after he departed. He was a music photographer for the LA music scene (albums and such; the kind of Vaseline-on-lens shots associated with 1970's album covers) before PG.
