a quiet day around the hacienda - I went out to the dollar store to get some Christmas cards and candy. man, they have gone downhill! almost couldn't get through the aisles. however, I got what I wanted and that's all that counts. December is here by PBS starting to beg for money and disrupting their regular schedule. so annoying. I never given them a penny. I have a selection of toothsome males for you to check out. my feature is Kevin Kline, who I just learned is exactly my age, only four days older. I enjoyed him in several movies, especially his dance moves in "In and Out." hope you like the rest of the boys! a warm welcome to our newest clubmembers!

PBS is primarily supported thru donor members/viewers.  I have been a volunteer at my local PBS station for 15 years.  PBS programming does a lot of good in our society, without the atrocious political bent of so many media outlets.

who cares about political bent? I am cross about the commercial bent! did you know that, watching Jeopardy on YouTube takes 19 minutes instead of 30!?!? :wow:

Commercials probably aren't funny, but that a 30 minute program is 11 minutes of ads - and we sit through them! - is funny, sad funny, but funny.  Actually, I get up and do things during the ads.  The only problem is that I get involved and miss the program.

Cut the cord a long time ago. Tired of the ads and the absurdity of network news. Streaming and PBS are the menu.

@David9311 , I watch "Murder, She Wrote" at 5 a.m. most mornings and "The Closer" at 5-7 p.m. most evenings.  Both are in recurring loops of their shows (6th sets of replays so far).  Otherwise, I do BritBox and PBS's dw.com for news.

there seems to be a sense that everybody has a smart phone and the ability to record shows on a DVR, however, these concepts are above me. I just stick with Perry Mason at 9 am and Adam-12 at 5 pm, flipping over to Channel 13 for the weather. other than that, I ignore the news, which I find far too sensational for my tastes, and watch a couple of progressive commentaries in youtube. Murder She Wrote is on before I rise, so I seldom see it, though I do like that show 🙂

And Perry Mason is a favorite of mine, though I seldom see it.  On occasion I have found a new Perry Mason show without a Paul Drake filmed with an older Raymond Burr, and after Barbara (?) Hale died, without Della Street.  When I was a kid, my dad collected the Earle Stanley Gardner Perry Mason mysteries, and I read most, if not all of them.  The one thing that sticks in memory is once when Mason was investigating, he pretended to be a drunk; for bloodshot eyes, he took tobacco out of a cigarette and put it in his eyes for a moment to irritate them.  Don't try it: it hurts.
