my bleat of the day: this morning's news didn't have and comics! I called to cancel my subscription, and got sweet talked into hanging on a little longer. one might retain the impression that the print media is controlled by the post office. they seem to have similar goals. whew! that feels better. now to the boyz - same damn problem - how to choose! I guess John Corvello looks like he would be able to keep up with me. mmm 🙂 welcome to our newest clubmembers!

So what, you live in the 60s??? Oh wait. It's Florida. That explains it.

I am a child of the '60s, having been graduated from high school in 1965 and college in 1969. has nothing to do with Florida; I am an old guy who appreciates print media!

I'm with you on that Coleman. I still have newspapers delivered too. I like my daily ritual of leisurely reading a newspaper while I have coffee. And if I spill something on it, it's not a costly accident.

However, I borrow library books online. I don't usually reread books and self space is a precious commodity. Therefore, borrowing books online works well for me. I still like to have a paperback book at the beach or when travelling. I don't have to worry about charging a battery to read them or worry about sunlight overheating them. Although not waterproof paperbacks are much more durable for travel & beach reading. If they do get damaged they are less costly to replace. I pass them along to friends/family when I'm done with them.

our library has this marvelous procedure in which I request the books I want, and they magically appear already checked out - I tend to go every Wednesday, after lunch with the rat pack. I have downsized drastically since my days in Dallas - I had about 60 feet of books, including all sorts of foreign language dictionaries. I rather miss reading dictionaries, as it can be difficult to figure out how to spell a word, if one does not know how to spell the word. I have not a) travelled of late and b) therefore have not checked with the paperback bookstore, if indeed it is still there. it sounds draconian, however, I like paperbacks for travelling, and I just leave them on my seat when done with them. I never know if someone picks the book up to enjoy or if the cleaning crew just discards it, however its just a consumable item to me. L8R!
