Building a community happens in both big ways and small ways.

We've undergone big, identity-shattering transformations that have catapulted us into new directions, new content, and new groups of people.  We've also undergone thousands of tiny little steps, every day to grow the community in more quiet ways.  

I try to not lose sight of the 'thousand little steps' to improve: the tiny minutiae that - on their own - may not seem like a lot.  But compounded over time, they add up.  Each improvement is a step towards a better, more custom, more pleasant user experience.  Every day I try to look at the community with a fresh set of eyes, and every time I find something that I can maybe do different, do a little bit better.  And while I can't get to everything as soon as I want, the eventual persistence pays off.
